fair-weather boaters

Oh I see where you draw the line
Haha, lol. Wish we were going to be at AHC when you are planned to be, but we will be up in Lexington. Come on up to Lexington and enjoy the nice blue waters of Lk Huron.....

Looks like we are planning on being down in your area around the week of August 21st. We have a large group going to Metro Beach (I think 18 boats) and from there, the little misses and I will be heading down to PIB and CP for the week.

That weekend that I am at AHc I am a bachelor …with three other boats. Wife comes Sunday to meet me…. That next week we are at NCYC …. Friday we are leaving for grand bend for 4 days

we are around end of august… be great to have a few beers on the island…. Let’s try to figure that out

Both of our boats went in on March 30th. A few more at our marina immediately followed. Went for a cruise with the Whaler yesterday and saw several boats, not just fishing charter boats, docked in West Harbor & East Harbor. There may be a dozen, give or take, docked at CiC. As far as fair weather boating goes, I don't just go for a cruise if the winds are high and it's storming like crazy, so I guess that makes me a fair weather boater...

Already in. But then, we were in all winter. Paid an ANNUAL slip fee and doggone it we use it! Shrink wrap, heaters, winterization and a bubbler. We were good.

We unwrapped with two weeks to go in March. Commissioned the last of March. We had an abnormal 3 day freezing spell a week later so the heaters came back out. I’ve been out for a short shake down cruise - to a boat yard, where we got hauled and blocked. New hydraulic swim platform installed. Finished yesterday! So yeah, it’s not even Tax Day and we are ready! Sure, several maintenance items to do this spring, but nothing immediate. Those jobs have been done. And yes, we have a bridge boat. No heat up there but we can close it up!

If you haven't already, try a space heater when it's super chilly. We us it on the bridge &/or cockpit, with the canvas on & closed of course, and we are usually comfortable without needing a jacket.

Great idea. And yes, we have one. I kept a small ceramic cube heater on board - one that we use during the winter. It will warm a small space like that well!

Well made it to near the boat… spent $1,800 at Dubberts now at Cleats …. I’m broke and haven’t even seen the boat yet :)
Can’t get over the activity and boats in the water….catawba is hoping

Took the Cobia out for the last run before the new owner picks it up tomorrow. I wanted to make sure the warranty repair was all good. It was wonderful out there..... 38° and windy. Center consoles are not designed for it. I'm not either for that matter. Anyway, all good. Still cold....

Had the lake to myself. o_O

Well, that answers the question if you put ketchup on your fries or dunk them in ketchup. I knew there was something wrong with you. :D
Oh there is something wrong with me alright….. I actually keep white vinegar in a small bottle in my coat to put on fries….. and that day I left the coat at the boat….. why no restaurant in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio has white vinegar is very perplexing

Well the good news about seeing y'all with the boats stored for the winter is that they stay shiny and it is easier to do maintenance. We cruise all year (yes Inhave bridge heat and AC). I find it harder to get maintenance done as we always want to go out and I am forever putting wax on the boat.

Cheers to y'all putting in for another year!
