2022 SPLASH pics

I forget did nothing come available at Belle Maer?
Nope, Bell Maer didn't have anything for us.
So we are at Algonac Harbor Club this year. Looking forward to it, we have a nice slip for the season.
Kind of weird feeling, new marina but familiar at the same time. This will be our first summer at AHC, but we have winter stored there for the last 10 years and appreciate the crew there. They have always treated us very nice, so it should be good.

I know you went to Ahc. I winter stored there for two years…. So know the group. They are all great…. Sounds good

I have had a few good conversations with Beauregard….it is very cool he still walks around and says hello to everyone….I assume he still has his Chris Craft in the boat house he built a few years ago ?

Matt at Mirror Image thinks I'll get launched near Marine Max, I guess. I don't know the area at all. They'll schedule the detailing and launch around Lake Erie weather for me. I'll need a 2 or 3 day window to give my BIL time to get off work for the day to bring it north. They say they can work with the marina to moor the boat for a few days. I don't want to deal with weather on the maiden voyage.

Being on Erie for a few years now….it is pretty predictable within 2-3 days….. problems come up when wind is on the edge…then goes higher then predicted.
The worst area is when you are on Erie approaching Detroit river…approx 5 miles out.... you can be fine in the lake then things get serious….once in the river everything calms down. Been thru that gong show a few times

this forecast is very accurate…..you are the first forecast covering Catawba to the river…. Anything 2 or less is good…. 3+ bad…. Not that 3 is a problem but if things change 5+ comes quick

I agree , Catawba landings is right next door to marine max , so is pier 53 .

Pier 53 is almost 1 mile north of Marine Max.

Mirror Image uses the hoists at Midway Marina which is next to Marine Max. The boat launch is actually between Midway and MM and Catawba Landings is on the other side of MM. I think Landings has a deal with Ship Shape.

Midway will probably put you at one of the 45' floaters, if in fact that's where you're launching.

Has to be tough for you guys having to wait so long. Had our first launch mid Feb with the SR and am now getting out with the jet boat with the ice now clearing off the rivers. This one will run all day in just a few inches and 1 gal/hr. Lots of fun!
Both of our boats went in the morning of March 30th.

Have been out several times and PIB(Put-in-Bay) twice already.
