It is a long journey back to having a federal budget.

The employees win .... Any business that can't pay their employees lays them off and unemployment insurance kicks in... Why the government Is any different is beyond me

Yes, I wasn't paying attention to the forum, since I just review the new/recent posts and everything shows up in that list.
Apparently the Holding Tank is an appropriate name, since that clearly is where all the sh*t flows... I will steer clear. I just come here to learn about boats and to get a bit of a mental break from the real world - if other people need to come here for political rants, I guess that is their prerogative.

This forum is rarely political... I'm like you its one of the few places you can come and everyone is polite and helpful and it's all about boats. Now throw in the political shit show going on right now and mid winter and a couple of threads pop up and go political... and on the opposite end of the spectrum a goat thread of which I hate goats... They are awful alien creatures

Spring is around the corner...gov is open...it will be business as usual here very soon.

Nothing personal toward you. More often than not when visiting this forum I see some new political thread in my new posts feed. There’s a lot of politics here for a boating forum. Also regularly see people taking political jabs in non political threads.

It's winter and we're bored. Personally I find it a very good discussion between friends. I value both opinions from both sides as it forces me to research the facts.

While I tend to lean to the right I find even sometimes those facts are distorted too and I like to debunk them. It passes the time.

Once April is here I am too busy working on my boat again.

So here is the deal... I am on a couple of car related forums and of course CSR. This type of conversation goes on at both. It is unfortunate that as a country our divide has stretched to the point where everyone is offended. The bottom line is the what happens up in DC has a direct relationship to my customers both good and bad. This effects my life so yes I have opinions because I am responsible for my associates and their families and my ability to provide them with the opportunity to provide for them.

Not by this thread or any others in the Holding Tank or any members of CSR. I'm offended by politicians on both sides of the aisle. They have brought chaos to our country. This group hates that group. Everyone calls everyone else a racist when much of the time race is not what they're fighting over.

Everyone is offended, everyone is angry, everyone writes letters to the editor based on the BS they hear on MSM.

Our country is divided like I've never before seen in my 70+ years and I hate the division. I feel like I can't say anything without offending someone and I don't like that.

I think a solution is term limits but that's not going to happen. None of those idiots will pass legislation that takes them off the gravy train.

Rant over. Oh, and I love these political posts. They open my eyes to opinions that are different from mine. I have the choice to read or not read any thread on CSR. Thus far there have been VERY few that I've clicked off from and those were usually ones that got into name calling.

Move on, nothing to see here.

We are FUBAR. Feed your congressman some drinks. He'll (she'll) tell you that they keep these issue from being solved to use for the next election. They all suck. But the answer is restricting "leadership" positions. Pelosi, Shumer, and McConell are like 100 yrs old. Get off my lawn.

Career politicians have wrecked our government. Our founding fathers never intended on people making a career in politics (congress). They also never intended on senators being career politicians and being elected by popular vote. Those senators were originally elected by the state's legislatures to go to Washington and represent the interest of the state. The 17th amendment bastardized that.

Term limits will stop this clown show going on in congress. But good luck on having these career politicians vote themselves out of power.

Time for an Article V convention. Term limits, balanced budget need to be the top agenda items.
