Can't watch youtube here at work, how well does she plane out, what is top speed with the 250, and how is fuel consumption?
A guy in my neighborhood has this exact boat sans trailer and with bad engines he was willing to take $300 for the boat, however when I checked it out, the transom was...
While I enjoy snow skiing, I sure enjoy the Texas weather. I went sailing on my Hobie 16 last Thursday. I did wear a shorty wetsuit because the water was 58*, but the temperature outside was 75-80*!
Well, tank is completely out. Foam from around the tank has been removed from the coffin. Removed the fiberglass skin from the sides of the coffin to see how far the rot goes. Unfortunately for me it looks like there is rot extending into the cabin. Once I started cutting the forward bulkhead...
Well, where I left off I had the fuel tank at a point where I thought I could just grab it with the front end loader and pull it out...nope, not happening. I couldn't get it out of the engine bay hole. It was wedged hitting the front and rear of the opening. I ended up notching the rear of...
The tank has holes in it and I'm hoping to have a friend who does aluminum welding build me another or rebuild this one if necessary. I just don't want to cut it up so I can use it as a template for the new tank.
I've watched every single one of Jay aka FriscoBoater's videos. After I finish...
OK so Im having issues getting the tank out. I actually cut a slot in the back of the engine hole cover. Now its hitting the front of the engine bay hole and hitting the back wall/rail. Im not cutting that. The entire area above the engine bay looks to be a separate piece from the main deck...
Good looking boat, super clean. Im tearing apart a 260 weekender right now whith rotted transom and stringers. But she is very unique with twin engines in a 26' boat.
I'm a Jack of all trades but Master of none lol.
Yes I can cut some boards and build some boxes. I think the cost and time is what is going to keep this a slow long project.
FWIW I've rebuilt my 80 Mustang Coupe race car from the ground up. I've roofed houses, built decks for mobile homes...
Can't believe nobody else has replied.
I've dug a little further into the boat..
OK, spent a little more time on the fuel tank and finally got it to release from its styrofoam tomb. I haven't fully removed it yet as I'm going to borrow my neighbors tractor with front end loader to lift it...
When I'm being pulled on the tube, I can control it a little by dragging my feet in the water. Adults can take a bit more than kids though LOL.
Be Safe.
Wow, someone ele with twins. So yours came with twin V8s or did you repower? Any pictures you can share of every part of the boat would be greatly appreciated. If you don't have a photobucket account you can email them to me at carlrenee1 at comcast dot net (replace at and dot wth @ and . )...
