Power loss - Starboard 8.1s HO

You guys nailed it! I Pulled the filters again and found some rust plus obvious signs of water contamination - wavy & crumbling filter media. I installed a RAYCOR style filter on the starboard, upstream side (will do port as well), replaced the OE cool fuel disk & paper filter again & all is...

Power loss - Starboard 8.1s HO

I can't be 100% sure the take is clear of water. I was able to get a hose in the tank to remove the majority of the contaminated fuel, then used the fuel pump to remove the remaining. I'm sure there was some water left behind, but I figured after filling the tank (125gal) and then burning around...

Power loss - Starboard 8.1s HO

Here's the back story - Zero problems with the engines in the boat till someone put a significant amount of water in the starboard fuel tank of our 06 38DA. The engine died on the way out of the marina, when I checked the fuel filter it was full of milky fuel. So, I pumped out all the...

    RayMarine E120 Video mod?

I decided to use an Apple Mac Mini as a media server on our 38DA & was exited to be able play movies etc on all monitors & to utilize the E120 for viewing, but after making all the connections I found the Raymarine unit was not responding to the video input. I called Raymarine & was informed...

    About to take the plunge

Duck, I sent you a pm. Drive the 270 loaded and see what you think. I needed a 100mph tail wind to get ours to plain with more than 4-5 people on it!!

    Trailering the 38DA

Yes, it is under max height with the arch in place. The only thing I will need to do before towing would be to remove the anchor light. I spoke with the salesman we worked with at Marine Max and he assured me the trailer is suitable for road transport. I'm pretty confident in his opinion but...

    Trailering the 38DA

I had no idea there are yard trailers.... thank you for the heads up! The boat was at a Marine Max dealer in Colorado when when we purchased it and had to be delivered to AZ. The transport company used a full size Kenworth to bring it home using the trailer in the photo. I remember the tag...

    Trailering the 38DA

We have a Freightliner M2 to tow it, it's rated for around 35K. I'll try to find some photos of it and post them.

    Towing

I towed our 1999 270DA with my 2000 f-150 4x4...not the best idea in terms of saftey. I started with almost a full tank of fuel in the truck and ran out of gas about 60 miles later! Get the diesel and tow with ease!

    Trailering the 38DA

Thanks for the replies! I think I've got a handle on the towing permit, it looks like a class B will cover me. It's $360 a year, you can't tow on holidays or holiday weekends, need to have oversize load signs and flags, escort vehicle after sunset till sunrise....the list goes on. heres a...

    Trailering the 38DA

Hello, We recently bought a 2006 38DA with a trailer and plan on towing it to lake Powell and other lakes a few times a year, a couple of towing issues that need to be addressed are how to tie down the bow (no bow hook), and I'm worried the props will hit the road going into and out of gas...
