Many boats at my dock are experiencing excessive zinc erosion, and I would like to do a little detective work. I am suspecting stray currents, as the rates of erosion are higher than what you would typically see with galvanic corrosion problems.
So I would like to measure the ground current...
It was dribbling out the through-hole that is dedicated to the hot-water pressure relief; I didn't see it at first because the flow rate was low enough it did not form an easily visible stream

Just returned from boat; turns out I had a leaky pressure valve.
I shut off the inlet to the hot water tank as a temporary fix.
Tried to unscrew the pressure valve, no luck (I was afraid to apply too much torque).
Are these things meant to be replaced or do people just replace the...
The water heater is in the starboard aft section of the engine compartment. The water system manifold is on the port side of the engine compartment, so there are 2 hoses going back and forth.

I have an 03 Sundancer 300, and have a mysterious problem.
I turn on the fresh water pump, and hear it pressurizing the system, after which it shuts off. But it kicks on again every 30 seconds or so.
On my first cruise this season, I started with a full tank of fresh water, and 4 hours...
Re: Can't decide
I won't address the 32 vs. 30 issue, just the issue of the cockpit lay out of the 300. We have a 30 with the same layout as the 2006. The things we like about the cockpit are that if we are serving food to guests, no one has to move while we bring things up from the cabin-nice...
Leaking gear lube
The input shaft was replaced under warranty last year due to water incursion; my guess is that they somehow screwed up the seal. Thanks for the ideas.

I have a 2004 Sundancer 300 (dual 260 Bravo-3's) with the following problem. When checking the outdrive lube before departing, I find the port side is almost empty. I fill it, go out for the day, and come back. I check it again after coming back and it's down a bit but not too much.
Then if I...
We did most of what other people have already suggested with great results. We did use Christmas Tree shop de-humidifier "salts"and West marine equivalent with equal results. Also used a spray mildew preventer that we purchased at West Marine. Sprayed it on surface of carpets, curtains...
A fellow West marine customer suggesting trying the "All-Purpose Polishing Miracle Cloth" Seafit model #163431 the last time we were in the cleaning supply aisle. We found it very effective at general recommissioning cleaning and were shocked when it removed black streaks and gunk from the...
I have a question I hope someone can help me with.
I have a 2004 Searay Sundancer with a Raymarine SL70C. I am not happy with the Cartography on the SL70C (I have the latest C-map updates, but I would prefer the Navionics system).
I have been told that I cannot upgrade just the GPS...
Hi - Thanks for the welcome. Our home port is Beverly and we cruise to Gloucester, Salem, Marblehead, Boston, the Annisquam River, Newburyport, local moorings and if we have time for an overnight, Provincetown. We have really enjoyed the way our 300 has increased the number of days we can be on...
Hi- We've been learning a lot from everyone here and appreciate it. We boat on the North Shore of Ma. and have for 5 years. One year with our new (unused when purchased in 2006) 2004 300 and 4 years with a 22' cuddy (not a Sea Ray). Like all, we are hooked. Can't wait for launch day and the...
