Trying to find out the brand of hatch in my 1992 330 EC - Sea Ray. I would like to purchase a Oceanair type of Screen/Sun shade for the hatch above the v-berth. I can not find any markings as to the brand of hatch - would anyone know which brand the factory installed in 1992? Bomar , Lewmar ...
Thank you SB in GP . This weekend I will check the line for leaks. I did not think it was normal , but I don't understand it enough to know the difference.
On the topic of fresh water systems and pumps. Once the water system is turned on - Is the Pump supposed to run constantly or is it a "on-demand' type of system? I had installed a new Shur -flo pump in my boat last season - I have just recently noticed that it really never turns off until the...

I agree with GaryHill and Craigalan on this - use your boat. I fish from my boat and other than the fishing rods and tackle stowed away - you would never know it. I do not think the OP is looking to use his boat as a charter or take out 10 buddies at a time fishing. He is not going to be ankle...
"Yes, the wet cores were traced to using butyl tape as a bedding medium."
Lets face it - the reason cores get wet and rot is not due to the type of sealant , but caused by exposed wood in the thru holes for hatches and screws on the deck - this goes back to the way the boats are built in the...
I caulked one half of the boat , then removed the tape after letting it sit for a few minutes. Than I did the same on the other side.
I had taken my complete Rub-Rail off the boat, cleaned the boat really well using razor blades and a 3m eraser on a cordless drill , then wiped everything down...
On my boat I used 3M Marine Adhesive Sealant fast cure 4000 UV. I think it worked well. To me it looks like the right choice.
from the description :
3M™ Hybrid Adhesive Sealant Fast Cure 4000 UV is a one-part sealant that cures to form a firm, rubbery, waterproof seal.
Its flexibility allows...
I didn't use silicone - it may act differently . The surface needs to be clean and dry before applying anything. I wiped everything down with acetone before applying. This is a situation where more is not better when using the sealer , you want to use just enough.
To achieve a nice clean / neat caulk line - Something that worked well for me was using blue painters (masking) tape. I taped off the hull on one side and the rub rail itself on the other creating a 3/16" or so gap. Apply the sealer into the corner - smooth it out with a wet finger or wet cloth...
