    blue plastic electrical connectors

Yes!!! Thanks for the link showing how they disconnect. Less hassle than cutting wires and splicing again. Thanks!

    blue plastic electrical connectors

Just bought a 94 270da. Need to replace the battery charger. There is a blue plastic connector of sorts that feeds the wires through the knock-out in the battery charger case. I expect there is some way to remove this connector with having to cut the wires. I see the same blue plastic connector...

    268DA and Weekenders

Anyone know what the 268 with 260 Merc should cruise at? I've never been able to get more than about 22 mph.

    268DA and Weekenders

Hi We have had our 268 Weekender for about 3 years. She's kinda tired looking, but she runs. I need to source replacement seats, but I would really like a helm seat that's a little wider. I could make one, but I would like one ready made. Any ideas?

    Pole Light

BTW: I see a lot of LED anchor/nav lights and I doubt if many of them are USCG compliant. The ones the police and Coasties use are the exceptions.

    Pole Light

good topic... My issue is that combination light at the top of the windshield on our Weekender casts a lot of light on the deck and in my field of vision. Night vision is greatly reduced. I had thought of getting a longer pole so the light would be above the bimini. We travel a lot at night and...

    RPM / MPH / Prop on a 1986 268 w/ 5.7 omc

This is interesting. I bought a 1985 26' Weekender w/260 last year. I have no idea what I should get out of her. She'll rev up past 4k in neutral, but won't go over about 3400 in fwd at about 18kn. I'm used to heavy twin inboards, so what do I know? I figured this is just a heavy smaller boat...

    Throttle handle stripped

I have an OEM Mercruiser single lever throttle/shift and the throttle handle bushing is stripped and won't engage the spline any more. I wedged a piece of metal between these parts so as to get home, but I need a more permanent fix. Are these parts replaceable?

    OEM AC on 260 Weekender

I want to install a small (6000btu) AC unit on my 1985 260 Weekender. Does anyone have knowledge Sea Ray's factory installation? I'm comfortable doing the job, but I see two possible locations... under the aft dinette seat or under the vee berth. I prefer the dinette location because of an...

    AC Outlets question

If you have no onboard source for 110vac, then your 110vac outlets won't work. You would probably have noticed large banks of batteries and if you have an inverter or on board marine generator, your electrical panel will have a mains selector so you can only switch to one source. If you are just...

    Need help deciding an Inverter

Divide by ten is good, then multiply by 1.25 for loss. Add a big altenator with a proper regulator to replenish the batteries. Some of the ac mfg's are touting their small cuddy units (5-6k btu) as being efficient enough to run on about 300 amps. The deep cycle magic number is the 20-hour rating...

    AC Outlets question

You might be able to run a small (~5kbtu) AC for a couple of hours from a 1500w inverter and a dedicated deep cycle battery bank of about 300ah, and possibly a high amp alternator but you are looking at a very expensive and complex alternative to a 12vdc fan or two.

    260 Weekender won't hold course

Thanks... Wandering is normal? Nobody thinks this is a bad idea? What can be done? This is a stock 260 (except ss prop, the purpose of which escapes me). The power to weight ratio does not suggest this thing will haul. Other concerns. This rig maxes out at about 3400 RPM and 18 kn (GPS). I...

    260 Weekender won't hold course

This is my first single i/o... I'm used to twin inboards. Does this setup have inherent difficulty in maintaining a straight line at low speeed? I tried adjusting the trim, but it does just loves to wander. What gives?
