Agree and interesting turn of events. Thanks to you fine folks i decided I did need bigger than the 33. And the 390 I had in mind I need to pass. I had a wild hair and called the broker I used to buy my 310. I looked at a 460 before it hit the market today... And made a tentative offer pending...
Hummm, Sooo.... the 390 has mismatched engines.... one side 8.1 and one 7.4....... both run fine, but was repowered at different times.... how much does this concern you guys? Im not keen on the idea, but is what it is i guess. The 8.1 is newer, so I guess I could negotiate throwing out the 7.4...
The 390 has twin 454's.... Whats the GPH on that? Id need to bring her up the coast about 300 miles....Probably a 4 day trip iCW, shorter outside. Will be better than trying to truck it, and a good way to get to know the boat.
My 96 310 had 5.7s and the useage was decent.
All good points. I have a 40 foot slip, so thats not an issue.
Now to convince the wife the older is better! (Wish me luck with that, she digs the newer looks).
As far as use, coastal cruising, two adults, two kids under 5 for 3 to 5 days at a time. The 33 would be a little cramped i think.
Help me decide. Im stuck between two boats. It will be used in Coastal Charleston SC.
Boat 1 is a early 90s Searay 390. Gas motors, fairly fresh rebuilds. Up to date on service, bottom recently done. Its shaft drive. Typical classic seary, just huge for an express cruiser. 80s looking interior...
I had no idea it would be this hard selling a classic 270. It was priced right all year. Started at $16k (high I know) then have dropped it to $10k.
I've revised the price to $8. If it doesn't go this week Ill be parting it out. Let me know if anyone wants the engines.
Hi All,
I'm in a position where I have to sell my boat. I've spent $14k last summer and the boat is almost new. It is in Charleston SC. Twin 4.3s. Starboard side is new. Both New carbs. I installed AC, works well. Here is a list of everything, and I have receipts. I thought I'd post here...
Hi all, almost done with the 270 resto I hope. Did a water trial after the new power plants and drive rebuilds. Runs fantastic except.. starboard side gets stuck in gear and you can't move the shifter. It's intermittent. Cables are clear, interrupter switch is fine. No good reason and have run...
