  • Sorry for the late reply. You asked if I replaced the fuel pump on my 215 EC myself and unfortunately the answer is no. I simply didn't have the time with a new baby in the house.
    I see in the thread that some are leaning towars the vapor lock idea. Perhaps but consider this. My boat was much like yours.. it ran strong when cold and ran well for about 2 hours. Then when she got good and hot I'd attempt to give it throttle beyond 2800 RPM and it would backfire through the throttle body and stall.
    A pressure check of the fuel pump showed that after about 45 minutes of running the pressue would drop to around 14psi (normal is 30 psi) . I'd recommend a simple pressure check of the fuel pump. In addition I did all the basics, wires, plugs, fuel seperator all with little affect. After the fuel pump and the electronic control module in the cap it was back to running strong!
