I have the snap covers on mine, and while they function well, when outside they also leave alot of gelcoat exposed to the elements, and don't cover the anchor locker hatch. When it rains water gets in through there and runs into the ski locker, and due to the genius design of the locker drain...

turbo's spin ridiculously high speeds, and checks of them are mostly visual. you can pull the intake and grab the shaft and see if there is any excessive play. make sure it can't contact the housing at all, as that will make a heck of a noise. Really shouldn't be much play at all

I'd see if you could find out who replaced motor and see if they have those panels. Not sure if the 195 is the same, but on my 205, there are female fittings attached to the top of those pieces, and a male rubber piece attached to sunpad that help hold it down.

my only concern with drilling a hole was water intrusion in places it shouldn't be...if thought this hole for some reason had a tube attached to it that ran back to the bilge area

The one thing that drives me absolutely NUTS on my 2005 200SP is the ski locker drain. The plug for it is about 1.5-2'' above the floor. Anytime it rains, wash the boat, wet kids running around, the bottom of the locker fills with water. Gets pretty nasty in there pretty quickly. Why on...
