I don't care for the new 47. The salon is too chop'ed up. I like the stateroom layout but don't care for the vdrives.
I think the 48DB and the 56DB's are the best layouts going!

I have a quick question. Is the hull on the current 42/44 Sedan Bridge the same as the former 400 sedan bridge model?
Also anyone with the 42/44 Bridge boats that can comment on the underwater exhausts? The reason I ask is -- I know someone with a 400 DB that has a bit of "station wagon"...
Great feedback so far. Do you think Sea Ray would have published fuel GPH numbers for the 56 with the CATs and the 56 with the MAN's?
Did the MAN's become the "standard" power for the 56 in 2003 and 2004?
I agree with Gary, I love the 48 DB helm the layout is fantastic! I like lots of...
Frank,
Great points, I will pass them along. Yes the Cats are 3406's.
I can imagine the smoke with the MAN's would get old, very quickly!
Warm Regards,
J
A good friend of mine is looking at 56 DB's I told him about this site and hope to see him on soon!
I am looking at 48 DB's and have spent a LOT of time getting to know the boat, owners, feedback... This site and the people on it are VERY helpful in providing feedback so...
How about...
This site is AWESOME and to see the interaction by Sea Ray is fantastic. The color we all add is fantastic, we are here for one reason, we love Sea Rays, boating, and our boat friends!
Frank,
I agree with you! I for one know a LOT about the issues CAT faced in the late 1990's, my 40 DB had 3116's and I spent the better part of a year tracking down the exact issues...
Good idea on the SS belt guards, and yes the Cummins paint is not up to par!
Thanks!
Jack
I am good with the forum and some sauce from all - I am a low key kind of guy.
Frank H., lets just be friends ok?
7 year old topsiders are the way to go man!!
So Gary, it's safe to say you are our resident fashion expert and Frank H. can be counted on for excellent feedback on his love for the CAT brand, perfecto!
I struck a nerve!
Frank H. perhaps you didn't see the comment from "Frank" that I replied to?
"Cummins builds great engines, but they make design choices based on answering this question: "How can we do this in the most cost effective way to still achieve the indended function with...
Gary,
Excellent post, thank you for the overview, a very good friend of mine who is also a 48DB owner (with QSM's) had much of the same feedback but I found your post very helpful.
With all due respect to Frank, regarding CAT engines. I had a 1999 SR 40 DB with Cats - 3116s which were...
