Hey GP007, Welcome. I live in the mid-cities DFW area. I boat at Possum Kingdom lake though. Where do you boat? This is a great site with a wealth of knowledge. For best results, add your boat detail and info in your signature line. Don

    Official 290 Sundancer Thread

2600da, I regularly go out with 6-8 adults or 6 adults and 3-4 kids on my boat for all day boating. No major listing at all. Sometimes I do minor trim tab adjustments but that is all. I have never felt any instability. Two drives, wider beam and a couple tons of added weight do make a huge...

Do you lock your cabin door?

I tested the float in a sink. I mention the float because without the float it would be hard to find loose in a bag of tools. As to full disclosure, I have very little concern about issues or theft on my boat. (famous last words I know). I am in a private marina attached to a private addition...

Do you lock your cabin door?

I went for the simple, in plain site, method. I keep a small tool bag, a soft canvas bag with basic tools in the storage area under the captains seat. The key, on a float, is in that bag. Again, not fool proof but enough to be hidden from roaming teens or a casual looker. A pro does not even...

Do you lock your cabin door?

Locked. A pro is going to get my boat no matter what I do. I want to avaoid inviting kids or lookers on the boat. I do keep a cabin door key well hidden in the cockpit area.

Only clamping on the flag pole mount I got a few weeks ago. I will save all the cool mods for after the peak boating season. I have the luxury of mild winters and plenty of time for projects and an excuse to spend time on the boat in November. I am very interested in the teak floor for the...

Come on down. Probably a 2 1/2 day drive. LOL I manage to make enough mistakes that I really manage to take advantage of the old saying you learn from..... I got the sytem by buying the wrong ice chest to begin with and the figuring out what to do with it other than garage clutter. The good...

I have the cockpit fridge & an extra ice chest. For the ice chest, I got the Igloo white cube and as previously posted I keep it tucked behind the captains seat. I got the Igloo white cube. It is perfect size and the perfect height to double as a seat. I often pull it up to the cockpit table...

Man you guys have good looking boats. LOL On another point, I was thinking I would be the only one that went all white. When I bought mine in November 2007 I think it was the only all white Twin 5.0 that was the the MM inventory US wide. May I compliment you on your choices. Now, this is...

    Welcome to the USSA

Yes, That is the fair and politically correct thing to do. If I can't have a 50 footer then no one should. That is what's right and fair. It would be funny if I could not see this coming over the horizon. In Obama Land, only 18 ft row boats and 16 ft sailfish will be allowed on public waters.

jmlloyd, I am in Arlington and would not boat anywhere but Possum Kingdom Lake. I keep my boat on the water at PK. It is like heaven compared to any of the other options you have in the earea with the possible exception of Texoma...

Groucho I have had a Magma for years and struggled with the right option to mount on the new 290. I had always used a rail mount on th 215 EC. IMHO I found the perfect mount. I purchased the rail/bulkhead mount from Magma. I drilled 4 small holes low, just above the gunnel level, on the...
