Yes. Both forward and reverse. And as it heats up it gets worse.

I have a 2003 410 sd with ZF trans mated to 4126 cats. When the starboard trans is put into gear it takes 5 seconds to finally engage in gear. I have checked trans level, ok, and voltage, also ok. 12 volts to solenoid when put into gear. Sometimes it won't engage at all. Any ideas?

Congrats on the boat! I would also like to know the Cruise Speed and Top speed.

Update: Went to Bahammas for two weeks. Boat ran great, had to change the racors once I was there.

Does anyone with 4126 motors run an additive. My CAT guy says not to unless the boat sits alot, which mine does not. I remember seeing a thread at one time about some sold at Wal-mart that was good.

I am thinking some of the things that were done probably didn't make much of a difference but they are scheduled service items at the 1000 hour service. I have only 585hrs but it won't hurt. My main problem here is I didn't have the boat surveyed before I boughtt it and went off what my diver...

No not all the time but I would like to be able to reach it. It may never happen and I most likely won't go crazy trying to reach it but, since I have a spare set of props, I will try and perfect them if I can.

Update: I took the boat out this afternoon and here are the results. 2800 RPM on analog starboard gauge. 2725 RPM on analog port gauge.- Not sure about this but the sync needle is dead center, Top speed 30 MPH Cruise speed at 2375 RPM 22.8 Knots or 26.5 MPH Remove, repitch, prop scan and replace...

Dominic, What are the HP on your motors. Don't you also have a 2003 410?

Yes. The CAT mechanic is thinking the previous owners may have used the wrong type of oil and brought that to my attention about using the CAT oil. Thanks
