I do have an external depth finder. How would I disable to check if this is the problem?

Should I be concerned at all that I actually damaged the engine from hitting the rocks? It seems unlikely to me given that all gauges read normal and I've driven at high speed for quite a distance? Is there anything in the lower unit that I could have damaged creating the alarm condition?
