I also bought two trickle chargers that cut off when battery is charged. I hook them up when in carport. That helps keep them completely charged. I believe the two of them was like 24.00 and some change. Iwill see if I can find what ones I got and post a link

I did exactly what you did for a while but was never Ble to relax as always wondering a voltage senseing relay is also a great idea

I have a second battery for just the stereo and amp. It only gets a trickle charge when the boat is not in use. I put it in the compartment under the back seat on starboard side. When that battery dies, I will probably look into a switch and such but this was a quick fix and it is an old 1000...

I forgot to add. I bought two trickle chargers on ebay that stops charging when full charge is achieved. One for the boat and one for the stereo/amp battery. If the later of the two drains...then no music as robbo. However, ran it for five hours the other day and there was plenty left.
