Thanks for the advice, I authorized them to pull the parts and the warranty was honored. I kind of felt like I was between a rock and hard place, but it's true it had to be fixed anyway. I haven't had a chance to take it out yet but I should be good to go. Thanks again. -Collin

By the way, this is the 2nd time this has happened to this boat. The first time was during the 1st year of ownership so it was completely covered under manufacturer warranty. At that time they also replaced the steering cable and helm.

I installed two flush mount stainless steel on my '07. I'm not sure if an '08 has a different layout. It was a bit intimidating drilling such a large whole in my new boat but it came out nice. I'll try to upload a picture later if you need it.

Does anyone know if a 185 Sport (2007) on a shorlandr trailer w/ breakaway tongue will fit in a standard 1-car garage? and/or do u know the length end-end while on the trailer?

Try not to over compensate when it begins to wander. Minor adjustments and wait for it to straighten itself up. Sometimes no adjustment is necessary at all. Smart Tabs helped reduced the effect in my boat and probably my best addon for the money.

Not "run" in reverse, I don't believe a 4-stroke can run/start in reverse, but the forward motion over the prop and the drive suddenly been thrown in reverse stalled the engine and may have just caused to to rotate in reverse a very small amount, I'm not even talking one stroke, just that slight...

While docking at slow speeds no problem, but it sounds like she threw it in reverse doing some speed. I can believe that if it stalled the engine, then there may have been enough momemntum to turn the engine over a little bit in reverse (probably not much but enough to flip the rubber impeller...

IMHO, tasting is optional :) After 5 or 10 minutes at operating temp, it should be good.

The same thing happens occasionally on my '07-185. Doesn't happen all the time and usually if I'm the one in the water I can yank the rope to clear it (before all the slack is gone).

Mine was ruined once the protector disintegrated. I'd say especially if you boat in salt water that it's ruined.
