My mid-bilge pump is running constantly. When the float is activated, the pump increases its rpm. All the bilge switches are off. Is the float somehow leaking some current to the pump?

I've looked all over and there's nothing. No plastic plugs, no frost plugs, nothing of the sort. I've just pulled the lowest hoses and added about 5 gallons of antifreeze.
This is my first year with our 1991 sea ray 310, with twin 7.4L engines.
I can't locate any drain plugs. Every boat I've had before has had drain plugs on the engines.
The guy I bought it from, who was the original owner, always winterized with muffs on the outdrives. I always like to...
I was winterizing my engines and took apart some hoses on the engine. Any idea what this spring is (link is below)? It's a 1991 sea rat 310, 7.4L mercruiset.

Nearly everyone at our marina will use shrink wrap on their boat in the winter. At a cost of $400+ per winter I've always wondered about alternatives.
Does anybody do anything different for a winter cover?
The buttons on my AC display are a bit finicky and I'd like to look at replacing it. I've attached a pic of what I currently have. Are there alternatives I can use? Can I use a simple household thermostat display?
We have a 1991 310 with 7.4L and Bravo 3s. When cruising, how do I determine the best trim position for the outdrives? I've always found all the way down has given me the best speed to rpm. Is there something I'm missing?
It's the narrow strip below the railing where you walk on the side of the boat. About 6 in width but could be a couple feet in length. It looks like injection is the best option. Have you used any of these epoxy for this fix?
I have some soft spots around the railing fittings on my 310. Are there any recommendations on the best product to inject to fix this? I've seen some various penetrating epoxy like git-rot and others. Does anyone have experience with any of these?
