Hello folks. 5.0 mercruiser MPI here. Cruised fine until we got 2 warning beeps with an interval of a few minutes then 2 more beeps (warning) arrived at destination now boat will not start. I can get her to run if i "rev" throttle arm but as soon as I return arm to neutral position she...
replaced 90 amp fuse.....new one blew instantly when batteries turned on. I guess the next thing is to find out what is shorting out to blow that fuse all of a sudden. Nothing added or changed since last year....very perplexing. Thanks for you help
seems odd since I've had running previously. Terminal connections are pristine and tight. Everything worked tuesday and it is as if someone flipped a switch and now I got nuthin.....any idea on what would cause main breaker to trip out of the blue??? Thanks for quick info
OK...New issue. Tried to start motor. Turned over once then went completely dead. I have absolutely no electric from 2 fully charged batteries. I have power to lower unit but absolutely nothing any where else. Is there an in line fuse somewhere??? and thanks for reply on tune up...
Hi all. 2002 5.0mpi is a little difficult starting at first and when first throttling up sputters and kicks for a short time then runs fine. After its warm starts and runs perfect seems to be on initial start up only. Treated fuel and checked fuel/water separator. Any guesses? Appreciate all...
additionally I have no idea what current pitch is. I can find absolutely no markings or engravings on existing prop and before you ask I'm not a rookie boater. I find it odd to not have prop marked some where
I generally cruise right around the 3400-3600 rpm area. Boat seems to like it around there. I rarely "peg" it....28-32 mph is fine for me..I just want the boat to get out of the water and on plain quicker and easier. On Oneida lake calm days are calm but rough days are ROUGH..lol
Fresh water (Oneida lake upstate, NY) and boat has never been in salt water. Boat is kept in water for the summer and anodes get replaced annually due to corrosion factor. I am assuming thats what your reffering to about hating the outdrive. The boat came with stainless when new and I do like...
