It is by speedometer, which I realise may be generous, but it is all I have to go by for now. Will have GPS in a couple weeks and see how it compares. It is really sensitive to the trim tabs - makes a 3-4 mph difference by how they are set.

I am jealaous as our used 230 BR did not come with the aft filler cushion which was standard with the boat, but the previous owner misplaced it. As I understand, the aft cushion was standard while the bow fillers were optional.

mdutton, I am surprised you get only 42. I get 52 to 53 top end with a 5.7 BIII. Sometimes need to get the trim tabs "just so" for that, but 50 comes easy.

Has anyone used the woven straps in place of the braided steel cables on your trailer winch? I just replaced my cable and it promptly pinched itself in the reel so badly that it might break. The woven straps seem as though they would be easier to use. Would the woven strap be strong enough...
