I have been actively looking for a 88-89 340 EC without success. Seems the decent boats are on the great lakes, but shipping to FL puts them about $4-5,000 too much (price to ship).
After checking all models, it appears the pre 95 330EC is the successor and might do the job for me.
I'd...
Thanks Jim (Mopar).
Yes, there are quite a few for sale on the great lakes and Northeast, but all are winterized plus the cost of shipping ($3000-$5000) puts many out of the price range. It's one thing if the boat is priced on the high end, but the shipping takes it out of the equation.

I had posted a few months back that I was looking for a 300WE Looked at a few, but wife saw a 340 and decided that was what we needed, so now the hunt is on for a pristine 340EC, preferably an 88 or 89 but will consider all 85-89s.
This time of year presents a problem as so many boats are...
Although I would love to have a 340, and yours looks very nice, the problem is my boat house. Just had the dock and boat house upgraded and the state regs were very strict on the boat house size and a 340 won't fit whereas a 300 will. If I wanted to make it bigger, I wouldn't have gotten a permit.
I'm still looking for a mid to late 80's 300WE.
Since I cannot take on any project boats at this time, I would love to find a well equipped, good to excellent condition boat with good documentation.
Seems many of the Great Lakes boats have been put to rest for the winter and the added expense...
Thanks Hottoddie for your reply. Now I have to ask, if the manifolds are FWC, theoretically they should last forever as the cast iron won't rust through or corrode through from the outside, why do so many folks have to replace manifolds? Again, I understand why the risers go, but am not...
I'm confused (what's new?)
I have read many posts about manifolds, FWC and raw cooled and find conflicting information.
As installed from Sea Ray, especially mid 80's 260s, when equipped with FWC, are the manifolds FWC or raw cooled? I know the risers are raw, but there seems to be some...
We are almost finished with our newly rebuilt dock on Colee Cove, right across from the sand bar below Palmo. Have room for about 3-4 boats of most sizes and 8ft of water down to about 3-4ft. . While I am looking for a mid 80s 300 WE wouldn't mind someone needing a place to stop or possibly...
Looking to buy a mid 80s 300WE, preferably near St. Augustine, but distance is not going to be a deal breaker. Not looking for a project, but rather a turn key or near turnkey boat. Thanks
