Lots of great questions...
Since no reputable marine shops wish to test Mercury's allocation restrictions on new outboards by swapping anything remotely from this decade into a Mercruiser powered vessel, I bought my SeaRay to create a really great powered package.
The LSAs will initially...
I figure that I will just leave the one in the boat for now and not try to reinstall the "wheel" in this case. When I pull these 350 Mag slugs in the next few months to install the new LSAs, I'll remove anything in the boat that has no purpose.
Today i installed a new Garmin GPSmap XS in my 2007 SS SLX and wanted to install the GT15M-IH transducer, but of course the Airmar unit is still in the only realistic spot in the bilge.
I thought of mounting it forward by the cabin bilge but the Garmin unit has to be in a submerged pool mount...
Third Question here as I have a new Garmin GPS and wondering where else in the hull I can install the GT15M-IH transducer without it interfering with the Airmar one... any ideas?
Just mounted a 740XS on the bracket just below my IP on my 2007 SunSportSLX.
Note that my Smartcraft fuel gauge was below the Speedo and would have been blocked by the display, so I moved it lower to keep it in plain sight.
See attached.
I'll be honest and say my Harbor Freight DA is the best model I have used. If you want to pay more money for a DA, go for it but it will bog down when the Harbor Freight unit laughs and asks for more pressure or a deeper cut compound!!
Those are junk... if you swap to Kodiak brackets and calipers, you can use GM pads easily able to purchase from any auto parts store and most of them have Lifetime Warranty on the pads. This will pay for itself over the span of owning a boat with a trailer.
Drive down to my shop one weekend and drop off... easy two day trip there & back. The week of the trip, another day trip to ready for Bimini, then reverse after.
Count me IN!
If anyone hauling down from the NE needs an overnight parking spot to hang out or talk boats... My shop is in Florence, SC right off I-95 & I-20 and a great half-way stop when making the East Coast road trip.
I have made the Bimini trip in my Donzi numerous times and I would...
THANKS for all the suggestions!
I would NOT choose the Mexico Coastline for the reasons that it is a longer trip, not American Friendly at this time and I have a lot more openings for better fuel pricing going to Florida first. The run from Key West to Hemingways in Havana is a short jump...
Has anyone here traveled from Gulf Coast areas to Cancun before? I am looking into options of moving a 2000 model 380 with gasoline power to Cancun soon... and just wondering if anyone has made this trip. Simply looking for options, routes, ideas, increased fuel capacity and stops along the...
Well here goes my first post... Wish Me LUCK!!
I just picked up a 2007 290 SLX with the twin 350 Mag MPI BIII drives and it has the U-Shape seating which sold me on the boat! I just love the open space but hate the "plastic" look of the dash and analog instrumentation with the cheesy add-on...
