Had a great day out on the water today. 2007 260 SunDeck with a 6.2 litre DTS, Bravo III & 200 hours. It was well over 30 C here today which is like a serious heat wave.
Ran like a top out & back about 2 hours each way. Idling around near the ramp waiting for another boat to get out & the engine dies.Tried to restart a few times & no start. Turned over easily on the starter, coughed & sputtered a bit but wouldn't catch.
Dropped the anchor in as the river current was pushing us towards the cable ferries. Had a quick look in the engine bay. No fuel leaking, nothing looked out out of place. Let it cool a bit & still no start.
Asked another boater to tow us the 100' we needed to get to the wharf. Got it on the trailer & it's home in the driveway.
Haven't looked at again since. My first thought is fuel, most likely a plugged filter.
Anyone have any other ideas ?
