Big project for the year looks to be a satellite system with a TV on deck and one in the salon.

I'm sure there's info within the 226 pages on here, but would anyone with a 370 care to post some pics and info on what they did?

Thank you

Well...I didn't put satellite in. We did 3 flatscreens throughout the boat. Each has it's own BluRay player. Movies for us, cartoons for the grandkids and we're good.

Here's a slide show from Photobucket with before and after pics. You might get some ideas.

Very nicely done. I like how you did the salon TV using the same space so it can be viewed from the salon and the aft berth.

Any chance you recall the brackets you used in your three areas? Looks like a very custom set up in the salon.

Thanks for your input.

Took my helm and companion seats to the upholsterer, they opened them up today. They are not wood framed and the backs were starting to lean back a little.I didnt know they used plastic for the seat frames.I was told they had been sort of repaired once before at least the companion seat had,not sure about the helm bench but it is in need of repair now.Has anyone had one of these repaired and who or how did you do it?I even ordered new slides for the helm bench they were $82 from tecla who makes the slides for searay.

I've looked through my saved emails and can't find the invoice for the parts to save my life! I'll take a look next time on board and see if there's a grand name on them. They are super easy to use.

I redid my helm seats about three years ago and there are pictures of them on the 370 web site. The bases were wood, not plastic. Since your boat is a different era and model from the 95 to 99 370DAs on this thread, it is hard to say what technique Sea Ray used then.

They used rotational molding,i heard from the company today they only have the mold for the 36" seats not 45" and not 27".Not sure what to do now,i dont have time to build new frames i am considering leaving them as they are for the season then build new frames over next winter out of starboard since i have a local source for it.

So I've narrowed down my winter project to a mild stereo rejuvenation. Still have the original clarion tape deck with cd changer in the cabinet, and have been getting by with tape-to-headphone jack and fm transmitters for the past few years, but decided to finally jump into a nice new bluetooth equipped receiver. I have changed car stereos before so i'm not worried about the receiver itself, but I'm wondering if anybody who has done it can let me know how hard it was to run a new remote cable from the receiver to the dash, as i don't think the existing remote cable will work with the new receiver and remote. Deciding whether to tackle that myself or hire somebody. I might have to hire somebody with cable snakes to get the 2nd remote cable up to the radar arch.

For equipment i'm going with
Clarion M505 Receiver
2 MW1 Remotes Dash & Radar Arch

Speakers - CMG1622 Component for Cockpit and Radar Arch

Hi there,
So I have run several cables from the helm to the lower salon...probably too many..LOL The only tough spot is actually just to the starboard side of the helm station. Take the white access plate off that is down at your feet and you can lay down while sliding your arm into that hole to reach the tough spot to help feed the wire though. The easiest way to do the new pull is to get some waxed string or "jute" and connect the old remote wire to it. Make sure it is a solid tie so that when you pull the cable through from the salon it doesn't pull off. Give yourself about 30-40'...more i better than less as you can leave it in their for later use and pull cables either way.

There is an access hatch in the starboard cabinets above the salon seating, albeit small, but it is a real plus for feeding the wires. You will need to remove the tv for the easiest access so just get prepared to take apart things to make it easier to access and install the new. I just finished installing a new Fusion UD-750 at the helm with 2 remotes and I had to run the rca's down to the salon to connect to the amps that are all located under the salon settee.

If you want to add a 2nd remote in the cockpit area you won't need to access the radar arch. I ran my wires along the port side where ALL of the other wires are stashed and simply pulled it through to the starboard storage locker that is behind the step seat. I mounted it just below the actual arch but above the bolster. I can send pics if you think it will help.

If you have some patience, you can do it all yourself..the toughest part is the feed as I said along side the helm, it is a tight hole to get it through.

I literally just picked up my helm seat from my upholsterer yesterday! I was doing some serious cleaning last month around the helm seat and started to find wood chips under the seat. Well, long story short I took the helm seat off the slides and it nearly fell apart in my hands. My wife was right all last summer when she kept saying there was something wrong with the helm seat...LOL (She doesn't read this so she will never know I said she was right...:) )

I took it to Larry my local marine canvas and seat guy.(Grand Traverse Canvas in Traverse City). He took the vinyl off only to find that both the back and the seat pieces were completely rotted...nothing to save..it was pretty sad and I don't know how it held me up the past few years. He built all new pieces, painted and sealed with 3 coats of marine grade paint added new foam and then re-installed the vinyl. I also needed 1 piece of new vinyl on the starboard edge due to some tears from a previous owner.

It came out absolutely perfect and looks as good as NEW! The total cost was $675 (cash deal). I just didn't have the time to tackle it, nor the expertise..LOL I see your in Michigan and close to TC so Give Larry a call as he is simply the best in Northern Michigan!

Thanks TC,Traverse is a bit far for me,we have decent upholsterers around here i just wanted to keep the seats original and not redo the vinyl for a few years.Hard to make a wood frame the same as the molded ones though.I ended up taking the companion seat mold to Soroc plastics and they are going to try welding it and adding some reinforcement,i had a friend take his leaking water tank from his 400 to them and they repaired it and reinforced the corners for $25,i dont think they knew how much a new tank costs to be special made. Was hoping to hear from them yesterday but the snowstorm probably slowed them down a bit.

If you go to the 370sundancer.com site, under odds and ends, there are pics of my cockpit seats redone in Starboard.
Gene, All links in the by year page are coming up 404 not found.

Looks like it is the 1997 year that is not working. I can access the others, but I have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to get to fixing the site. Thanks for the heads up. The site needs some updating anyway.

I worked on the site today. No updates, but everything seems to be working now. If anyone has some time to pound the site a bit, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

It seems like every model has an "official thread" except for the 370 DA. What an awesome boat! Not to big, not to small, moves okay with gas motors. What's not to like? Any 370 owners with me on this? I'd like to hear from you guys. With a few changes I made to my boat (camper canvas, flat screen TV, & custom bar) my cockpit area is an incredible place to hang out with friends, have a few drinks, or a cup of coffee in the morning. I'm pretty happy I accidently found this boat. What do you think? Mark

What's not to like? Exactly what my wife said the first time we boarded 1996 370 Sundancer, we drove from North of Detroit to New Buffalo Michigan ( 4 hours across the state) to go look at a different vessel and really didn't like what we saw, while we were in the area the broker took us to see another vessel that was close and for sale...1996 370 and my wife immediately fell in love with it but it was a little out of our price range and not to mention traveling from lower Lake Michigan through the Mackinaw Straits, South down Lake Huron and then home to Algonac located in the St. Clair River, a $3,000 + fuel bill so we searched up and down the Great Lakes for a 370 and after a few months of searching the WWW we finally found one in Port Clinton Ohio only a one hundred mile run home Up Lake Erie through the Detroit River, Lake St. Clair and the the final leg up the St. Clair River into Algonac. Can't wait to throttle down and bring our new baby home!!!

Congrats and welcome to the thread! I am sure no one on this thread will disagree with you on the 370. Be sure to take the time to read through the whole thing :)smt001) as there is a whole lot of info here.
