as the title states im looking to purchase a specific 2005 390 sundancer in the next few months.
i have been speaking with the owner constantly keeping him informed of my intentions..
he is in no hurry to sell but will sell it to the right person for the right money, he is also a dealer and this is his personal boat.
Ive done as much research as i can online and am at a point where we will start negotiating price soon within the next few months..
i'm looking to make an offer but want to know what is usually a good starting point on boats in general, 10%, 20% , 40% off asking price? which all a varying from 145,000- 200,000 with diesels making up the higher end boats.. the 2 390's im looking at are roughly 170k, and 180k
(im fine with cars, bikes, jetskis, but boats are a new animal to me)
there are 2 boats in my area, both are close to showroom condition with the bigger 496ho's they both have the same options packages (pretty much loaded) except one has satellite tv (not important to me), the other has an addition 12" display in the dash, both have bow thrusters, roughly same amount of hours roughly 350ish on engines and gen-sets are also low hours depending on boat 90-150. the second one i have yet to lay eyes on personally, but had a friend that was in the area scope it out as its a few hours drive away even though as the crow flies its 35 miles from me..
my other question is, over the past year, what have others sold for in my area so i can figure on if im getting a good deal and also use as a reference to making an offer.. as i know the new model year is coming out soon and the 2005 will be 11 years old verse 10 which im going to also assume is going to be a drop in realistic price..
all help from dealers that have access to "sold boats price over past few months" would be appreciated..
thank you for your time.. feel free to PM me if you don't want to discuss publicly
