Select EX Thread

Has anyone purchased a real custom boat cover for their 270SLX? One with a spotlight pocket etc?
I need one. I dry store, and the soot from the tow motor is ruining my Canvas and exposed gel-coat.
I would like a nice cover, maybe something I could get the boat name embroidered on, etc.
I don't have the Arch.
I had the number for a guy in Utah, I think, But I have lost it.

I ordered one from Bald Mikes online store. It is an absolute perfect fit. I ordered the Sharkskin supreme fabric. I use it for an outdoor mooring cover. Again - perfect fit.
Less than $500 delivered to my house. Made by Westland.

Did you have to move any snaps?

Doesn't use the snaps. Comes down over the rub rail and covers swim platform. Uses a cinch cord to tighten. Won't work for arch, and Bimini needs lowered to use it.

It can if you plan to tow with it.
I use it for an in-water mooring cover so it is not tied down to anything. The cinch cord holds it tight.

I broke the walkthrough windshield on my 270 SLX yesterday. Is the glass on the center walkthrough flat or curved?

****. That sucks. Sorry :(
You might be able to order from sea ray as i think it is exactly the same part on today's model. Might be a different number but should be the same part.

26 pitch 3x3 props came from the factory on my model year.
I have a set of Mercury Racing XR props, 25 pitch, 4x3, polished, cupped. They helped a little over the stock props.
Running the stock props now, and put the XR's up for sale.

Re: 270 Select EX Thread

What's the largest size chartplotter/radar that we an put on our boats where the existing chart plotter is?

Mine is a Garmin 640 on a mount that is on the Right Side Low. The 2011 has a different gauge layout from yours I think Lawyerman. I have been looking (lusting) over the 741 series, but dang, 1200 bucks and stuff. I like the 640 but it is a dog in the sunlight. Cant see most of the readout. I guess pictures are in order....

Wait, Heres one:

Let's see if that worked

I currently have the Garmin 541. I think the buttons are wasted space, and I could put something in there with a larger touchscreen. My layout is the same as what you can see in the pic that rggale posted a few posts up.

Looking at the chart plotters on the Garmin Site, and wow, they are proud of them. The 541 is ~6 x 6.5 inches. long side is the height-top to bottom. The newer Chart plotters are all rectangles, long side Width-left to right, so you would want something to cover the hole and extend almost bezel to bezel on the gauges, Yeah?
Preferably without doing a bunch of cutting and swearing. The iPoop Mini 3 like what rggale has is 7.87" x 5.3" and it overlaps the Gauge Bezels by a bit, So I'm guessing about 7.5 inches between the Bezels? So all of the 7" display Garmin's are too wide. A Raymarine a65 might fit. I dunno. it's going to be a fight between screen size, fit, and function.
just my 5 pennies worth.

I am 300% satisfied with my iPad setup. The best chartplotter/gps out there. This winter I am going to remove the original navman chartplotter and put a blank in the space to add a proper mount for the iPad. The iPad does not interfere with the visibility of the gauges. Works fine.

What did you end up doing about this?

Nothing yet. I took the walkthrough part off (one screw) and it's been in the back of my SUV ever since. I'm going to take it to a glass shop and see if they can put something in there. If not glass, then maybe plexiglass?
