No, also not talking about while under way. Just sitting at the dock. I'm thinking it's because of the batteries and all the electrical crap that's on the port side of the transom.

Looks great. We braved the 20MPH wind yesterday and found some protected areas. All in all it was a great day on the water. Here's a pic from yesterday:

Windy day out there yesterday. 25+mph winds made docking really tough, especially in front of a bar with a big audience. I made it in smoothly, and got a standing o, round of applause. LOL. Apparently there were half a dozen other boats that really struggled to get in, including a couple that decided to call it quits.

Installed my new Chartplotter last night. What do you think? Cost me $0.40 out of pocket for two strips of Velcro to attach my iPad Mini to! :)

My helm wired Clarion radio remote is going out. How easy are they to change?

Also, when I put it on satellite radio, it says unknown channel or something like that. Anyone know what that means?

What kind of top cruising speed are you guys getting in your 270slx? Mine has a 6.2l, full of fuel and water, 2 SOB, and balls-to-the-wall is 40.8mph ~35kts.
 
I have the 496, and my bottom is painted. I peg out at 50 mph with 4 people, 3/4 tank of fuel, and full gear.
 
Different boat...but 300SLX with T-350s is hitting 51-52 on a full tank, and VV shows a top speed of 53.9 on 1/2 tank. A few people on board in both scenarios. Bottom is painted.
 
270SLX, 496 Mag, no bottom paint, sports arch, 3/4 tank of fuel, full water, full of gear, 2-3 people on board - I max out around 50MPH (sometimes slightly higher) on the GPS.

The 270 SLX is a heavy boat. The 496 Mag is a great motor for it.
 
I need to replace the horn on my 270 SLX. Can someone send me a link to one that will work? Thanks.
 
My 270 with the 8.2L is around 52-53 on the GPS 1/2 fuel, full water, my big behind, and one regular sized adult.
I have no bottom paint. Are you Turning a Bravo III? I'm going to guess that you are. How many RPM are we talking? What's the RPM at WOT?

I had the same question today. What happens when you want to clean the holding tank out when say the boat is on a trailer at your house? For example during the summer months, you get it pumped out at the marina regularly, but when it comes time in the spring to clean all out a get it ready for Summer, how do you drain it once you clean it?
 
With an old shop vac. Will suck it dry in about 2 minutes.
 
With my 290 I have hit about 52mph too. As an aside. Can anyone hear tell me about the 350SLX? Just about ready to trade in my 290 for this beast and was wondering if anyone had any feedback or experience with it. TIA.
 
I broke the walkthrough windshield on my 270 SLX yesterday. Is the glass on the center walkthrough flat or curved?
