To all you guys traveling East through Long Island Sound, we are planing on leaving Norwalk harbor (East Channel) around 8AM. Anyone wanting to meet out on the Sound and travel together let me know,! I am willing to alter my departure time accordingly.

Joe, it's great having you back in the action!

Folks,
Here's my plan of action for the Dinghy Poker Run.

We'll be bringing smoked baby back ribs and some desert.

We'll have longest run tomorrow, departing as soon as I can fit under the fixed bridge in Sag. I'm very excited seeing everyone.

Alex, do you need food for the BBQ after the poker run? I can pick some up in Newport before we head out to block.

Great question, Jeremy. Yes, I hope that people would bring few things to throw on grills, or some snacks, or appetizers, etc.

Joe,
Don't you love those ealry morning departures when the nature is just waking up.

I think it's supposed to hail on sunday.

We will bring steak tips and couple bags of chips/snacks for BBQ.

Sounds great Jeremy!

The flotilla has officially began with 3 boats in the raft.

Inspiration, Mirage and Knot for Sail have secured the spot.

Had a great night in the raft up. Had engine trouble on the way out, but we made it!!

I should give a big thank you to Trevor at Jackson's Marine who got me back up and running. Had two spark plug wires burn out and cause the engine to not reach full power. He swapped out the wires and I was good to go!!

Beautiful day in a beautiful port.

We had a present ride from Sag, with great scenery.

Have a great time at the raft. We just arrive outside of Newport. Checking out the mansions from the water and getting ready to head in to the harbor. What a beautiful ride here. Looking forward to meeting everyone on block.

The raft is growing nicely.

Looks like another successful flotilla. Liz and I are cruising the PAC NW waters and had our first extended excursion to a group of islands 85 miles north of Seattle, called the San Juan Islands. Along the way we came across a pod of orcas about 300 yards off shore of San Juan Island in Haro Strait. We stopped of course to take it all in watching a pod of 4 swim across out in front of us no sooner did we hear the sounds of a blow hole to our stern and there were two more orca about 30 yards just off the back of the boat. Incredible. There is a crappy picture attached but after standing in awe for a minute, we realized that taking a picture just might be a good idea...of course it never does justice to the real event.Anyways, happy boating to all of you and enjoy the rest of the trip!Tom & Liz"RUFF SEAS"

In port at mystic with the gang. Beautiful ride across the sound we did a slow "trawler" speed cruise with Lady Taz and Inspiration .some beautiful sights along the way. Pics will follow. Dinner in town tonight with the crew. We are loving these flotilla events.

Off at midnight tonight and hope to arrive early Wednesday morning. Should be a bit breezy for you guys Wednesday on way over…Safe travels…..Look forward to meeting everyone.

The weather has been beautiful so far. We're sitting at the Mystic Shipyard this morning, and I thought I'd post a couple pics from the trip. The first is a shot of Greg we took while on the way to Shelter Island, while the other two are pics of the Flotilla leaving West Neck Harbor.

Looks like I might see some of you guys at Champlins on the 16th. Champlins sent me an email saying there should be space available so I guess that means I will have to call before I leave. Overall we are almost doing a reverse fotillia trip, 3 nights as block, two at Mystic, and one or two at Greenport. My boat is probably the only one without a name on the back.

Did anyone go through Moriches inlet? Anything I should look out for there? I assume when heading out I should stay to the right and head along the FI side for a few hundred yards.
