2 files welded together and hand sanded and polished. Maple scales and brass rivets. Don't ask how long it took to make.
If you want one you need to take a number. Already have 6 on the table. All one of a kind no 2 look alike. When does a hobby cross over into a business.

I hear you Scott but I carry this all day and no one goes over the edge. Try carrying your Glock in the mall hanging off your side. Besides you only carry a knife to a gun fight if you know how to use it.

Of course there's no substitute for the standoff effect of a well-placed pointy projectile coming from a rifled barrel.

I'll keep my Sig...I've never been good with a knife. If I was ..... You'd have 7 going out

Maybe you missed my intent. It's not a gun verses knife thread. Sorry if I lead it that way.
By the way my shanks go for 500 to 1000USD a pop. With a handmade sheath, a little more. :smt001

It's a good looking piece...I am looking for something in a close quartered piece for my oldest at school (college). She has a late class she walks back to her dorm late

I have a great appreciation for the utility and quality of that piece of art. Nice job! I'm also in the Glock corner, but don't doubt the effectiveness of that weapon in a fight, even if against a CCW. I hope I never come across someone who knows how to use a knife while I'm carrying. I choose a firearm, not necessarily because it is better, but I just can imagine being able to carve someone up while they are fighting me. What a mess. All that germy bodily fluid. Yuck.

Can't believe all the Glock guys here. No one is a XD guy? Crime happens everywhere...they don't break into homes in the 'hood...nothing nice in there!

Very nice Bill. .

Note to self.. DON'T break into Bill's house.

Wow, all you guys that "always" carry a gun? Ever thought of just moving to a nicer neighborhood?

LOL
When it comes to a violent criminal attack, everybody has a ticket in that lottery. Will you be the "winner" that day? Violence can happen anywhere at anytime. Your choice is you can pretend it will never happen to you or you can prepare for the worst but hope for the best.

I like the looks of the sheath, but would worry that the point of that Texas Toothpick would go right through it and possibly into my body.

Beautiful piece Bill! Very nice work that you should be proud of. It would accompany a 9MM nicely...

Check out my photobucket link. I did one for a guy and used 32 shell casing for the rivets. He carries it strapped to his leg just under his gun holster. He's a sheath maker and made a great leg strap sheath.

I do look at it as art and function. My friend is a gunsmith and we share our love of personal protection equipment. I have a tactical spring loaded ballistic knife in the works right now. He's making the tube (barrel) and I'm making the blade and spring assembly. It should shoot a 6 inch blade about 20 feet and penetrate to the hilt in flesh. Animal of course. Very little sound.

My 18 year ol grand son was showing off the tee handle I made him and he buried 2 inches into his leg. Took a couple stiches.:smt009

TLD.
I have another sheath in the works for just that reason. Rivets at the tip. Hey if you can't shave with it, it aint a knife.

Ah ha! There are more of us out there! XD40 Subcompact, backed up by a Remington 870 18". Wait, I guess the XD is the backup. I don't carry-just home defense. Not boat defense because the boat is in CA and my XD is illegal there. Goofy laws over there...we're a little looser in AZ.

Well, in fairness, I do have an H&K 40 that I carry from time to time. I'm thinking of getting my wife a Taurus Judge 410 to replace her Walther P22, as it fires shotgun shells, thus less requirement to aim.

Judge 410 is an excellent gun. Plenty of bang, wide pattern, and little kick. Just pulling it from her purse would intimidate me.
410 ammo is very available too.
