nyc boat show

Larry, I'll buy you a $10 hotdog and $9 beer if you jump up and down on the deck of the 510DA yelling Jellyfish.

You better have your camera ready! It's only happening once! Who is putting up the bail money??:smt021

Hope someone took photos of anyone yelling jellyfish :) I went yesterday and then hit little Italy for dinner. The outboard 370 IMO was so flimsy the swim platform looked as it if was going to break at the show. There is so much wasted space on that boat I just don't get the appeal. It seemed like a 34 ft boat with 3 ft of fiberglass covering "covered" outboards. But hey, its just my opinion.

Hope everyone had fun!

Mark

Boat show was OK, but the dinner at Old homestead Steak House was AWESOME. Man that's a good steak. The tricky part will be passing the Habanero Beef Jerky I ate at the show in the morning.

The steak was great. The company was even better. Thanks all for a great night. Even the formula guy

Great time fellas! Great company indeed and the beef, seafood and libations were top shelf!
Oh I bought a new dinghy! 310 air deck

I tried the habanero too. Good thing I had a beer in hand to put the fire out.

You may need to lube up to prepare for the exit of the jerky! Beer won't help with that!

Great time everyone and yes the food and company where top notch, (token) we agreed the 370 venture was flimsy and its a 340 with outboards. But all in all a fun filled day.
Ps I also bought a dinghy package!!!! 270 airdek w/ merc 6 hp :smt038
There was talk that this could turn into an annual CSR event we had a good showing and that's without trying to organize.
We'll see.

My 15 year old daughter and I spent a great day their yesterday followed by a nice dinner in a little place a few blocks away.
I didn't like the 370 Sea Ray with the outboards at all. You are paying for a 37, but several feet of it is a cover that goes over the motors. The aft stateroom was nice, but the rest of the cabin was very unimpressive for a 37 foot boat.
The 380 Cruisers was a much nicer boat with a bigger cabin.
The 510 Sundancer was nice, but at a "show price" of 1.2 million it seemed a bit overpriced once I went on the 950K Prestige 500 which seemed like a much nicer and way more spacious boat at a quarter million discount.

My son and I went to the show today, and frankly, were very disappointed in the new Sundancer 280. The deck and cockpit areas seemed very meager (looked like the deck of a fishing boat), and the cockpit lacked any kind of style whatsoever. I spoke with a few other manufacturers about what I saw, and was told (from several sources) that, in an attempt to cut costs, the SeaRay and Bayliner lines are sharing more and more parts. I'm not sure what to believe, but based on what I saw, I wouldn't buy one anytime soon.

I had a great time at the boat show as well. Making this an annual event sounds like a good plan to me.

I didn't get any pictures of everyone jumping up and down yelling jellyfish, but I did get these:

Joe, on line at the bar for a beverage, sporting a stylish man purse. Along with Ben and some of that famous Jerky.

Me, with a Hot Latina girl I met at the show.

And finally, our 'Token', Diss'n us at the dinner table

I may have a few more, I'll have to check.

Sounds like you guys had a lot of fun. I was away and couldn't make it. Doing this as an annual event sounds great.

I agree the prices seem to be out pacing the value. I wonder if Sea Ray would be better off if it was not under Brunswick. The 370 Venture seems nice to me, but it is no bigger than my 340 at 6 times the cost. I wonder who is buying the new Sea Ray's? I like to go to boat shows to look for my next used boat. Right now I have no desire to change my boat...
