they had 3 insurance jobs come in late this week
I scheduled it 2 weeks ago ...but they are cutting me a helluva deal IMO so I shouldn't complain much

Jim, I just read through this entire thread and you're doing an awesome job! I love seeing new life being breathed into old things like this. Thanks for sharing this story with us, and keep up the great work. I'm looking forward to seeing her in the water again once she's returned to her former glory.

dash is done now..made a plate for the switches and speedo
and fabricated a cable guide so the shifter and throttle cables and the engine harness dont drag the hull when turning.
and drilled the windshield mountings today
all holes drilled all unused repaired

thank you Sir
this will be a new experience and looks **interesting** to do

These old runabouts are a lot of fun to restore, aren't they? I've done a few of 'em and they really give you a sense of pride when you're all done. The only one I have left is my old Starcraft Jet and she's starting to get a bit ratty with respect to the paint. Hmmmm. I think I found myself a new project...

Old boats and old cars are a disease
there is no cure...you just treat the symptom from time to time

dropped her off at the gelcoat shop yesterday
should be done early next week !!!!

well the whole next week thing is going slowly
was up at the shop today and miraculously the topside is in finish primer and the boat is finally upside down and the bottom being sanded
they say it should be done by the end of the week as I am going on vacation next week and plan to get a big run toward getting it back together
a few odds and ends to find/aquire still but getting closer. Can't wait to see some color on her !!

Oooooh, that is downright beautiful. Frankly, looking at the hull upside down, I actually appreciate the lines of the boat more.

Hopefully this will be the last time ever it will be upside down:wink:
