I write this heavy hearted a huge loss

Sorry for you loss, I'm right with you as my sister passed away yesterday afternoon. She had been battling brain cancer since diagnosed I August. I was able to get there before they took her away to say goodbye. I wish I could have made it before she passed. Remember all, no matter what differences you may have with a family member, keep in touch, say nice things to each other because when it comes down to it family is family.

Ken,

Sorry for your loss too, I have 7 brothers and sisters and can't imagine what you’re going through.

Thanks for your thoughts, she was the oldest of 5 and the only girl in the bunch but she was only 61 with her birthday a month away. Tough on us but my Dad had to watch one of his children pass before him and Mom passed 13 months ago. Tough year...

I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. Losing my Dad nearly 2 years ago was extremely hard. He, as your father in law did got me ill with the disease of boating. I know that you will have great memories to reflect on as the days of the aftermath of this follow. I wish you, your bride and all your family the best. There is one more great sailor that has set sail to heaven,
sail on Rip Dad, sail on.

All the best.

My heart goes out to you and your family. I lost my dad last year so I understand some of what you're going through.

My dad was a lifetime boater. As a tribute to him we had a ship's bell engraved with his name and dedicated it to him. Whenever we board we ring it so he knows we're getting ready to depart.

Here are three pics of the bell before we put it on the boat.

Now, after we dedicated the bell we know that Dad is with us on every voyage. He was a great ol' skipper who loved boating and boated most of his life.

It's nice to have him along when we go out.

JPMD, sorry for your loss.
Beachcomber, that brought tears to my eyes...

I am sorry for your loss, our prayers go out to you and your family. I lost a very good friend and co-worker less than a year ago due to a routine by pass surgery. It always hurts, but when it unexpected, its just that much harder to accept.

Very sorry for your loss. We lost my MIL last July after a very minor car accident started a cascade of failures that ultimately took her. It was very hard to sit there and watch her go, I feel your pain.

My prayers go out to you and your family. It's a good thing that you smile when you think of him. Do that often. God bless.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Having lost my father and hero to Cancer only a few years ago, I know your pain. Godspeed.

I too was saddened to hear of your loss. Thanks so much for sharing this with your fellow boaters. I think you know you have been blessed by being such an important part of your father-in-law's life. Hopefully your pain gives way to fond memories soon.

My condolences on your loss. The gift of such a long and wonderful relationship is a great thing in life.
