So, another boating season is approaching.......clocks get turned ahead this weekend! Got inside my rig today and started a list of stuff to do. What are all of the usual suspects doing to their boats this year?

I have already re-done the dash and I did a TV install.
So, now I think that I'll just use it!

2/26/2011 - gas was $3.64 @ the marina. I wonder how much it be next time.

I will be adding (8) LED cockpit lights, (8) LED salon/galley lights & (4) LED trim tab lights & upgrading my 545s Garmin to a 720s unit. I will also be finishing up a few "mods in progress" from last year.

My wife almost divorced me over the $$$ I spent this Winter on gearing up for Spring projects/launch. My garage is full of product, tools, parts, etc :)

Here's my list so far and taking off entire week to complete:

  • Compound/Polish entire boat
  • Sand/Cetol/Clear teak
  • Install Anchor Roller/Cleat/Lock/New Anchor and Rode
  • Install TV and HDTV antenna
  • Install Garmin GPSMAP 620

Still trying to find a good canvas shop locally to do full enclosure but may wait until the Fall. I'm sure I'm leaving something out but I've got the bug bad and can't wait to get started. I'm sure I'm leaving several things out. Let's just say I'm going to be busy for a solid week prior to launch.

- Replace transom anode bolts (This is something we all should watch. They are made of aluminum. Mine were completely corroded through.)
- Replace port engine
- Replace steering swivel shaft with stainless, replace seals
- Reseal transom plate
- Repair old fiberglass repair in hull
- replace hoses
- reupholster helm bench seat - done!
- replace clear vinyl in side curtains - done!

Rebuilding swimplatform, reflocking(yes thats what its called) the cabin windows, reupholstering the helm seat and adding RADAR (I hope).

Scorpio.......What the flock did you say you are doing to the platform? LOL

Andy, You must have the motors out? Arent those anode bolts under the Y-Pipe? And you are right, they do rot out. At the end of this 2001 season I am pulling the engines on mine. I want to rebuild and reseal transom assys.

ohh the list keeps growing...waiting for the temp to get above freezing so i can get goin.
-having some mechanical work done (out drive service, gimbal, impeller, ect)
-Redoing complete cockpit, replacing back to backs with pedestal bucket seats
(does anyone have pics with back to backs replace with single seats? making more room for fishing!)
-redoing vinyl side pads and installing speakers
-reface dash
-replace bimini top as well as adding aluminum fishing/radar arch
-installing spotlights on arch
-install garming gps
-restaining all the teak trim throughout

and im sure theres more to come

Ok lets see....impeller,thermostat,fuel seperator, anodes, buff and wax(great info on forums everone!),paint and reinstall anchor mount(someone cliped it last year and had to have welded:huh:), have a loose wire or somthing for port wiper and gage lights, installing new hummingbird 856 gps, small repair for 2" stripe, spray canvas with waterproof uv protectant, replace antena(tree at launch decided to wrestle with it when we pulled it last year:huh:) replace latch on port cockpit window(I did it), wire for downriggers, install more pole holders.......Im sure I forgot somthing, oh ya...enjoy the hell out of her while doing all of that and more.

Thanx reefer. Its our summer cottage and needed a big back porch.

Is that something you added or was it purchased with the extended platform? It's looks correct for the era, just longer. If you added, where did you get it? I'm looking at buying a 300 or 340 and would love that addition

Reefer, I actually cut stretched and widened the stock plaform. There are companies that sell good fitting aftermarket platforms, but I wanted to retain the stock look.

Holy Cow!!!!! That's awesome work. Let me know when you go into business doing these. I'll be the first in line

When you have the time, I'd be curious to see a thread on how you did the platform. I'd love to stretch mine. Or PM me if you don't want to post but I'd say every classic SR Cruiser owner would love to see your process. Great stuff!

I would like to replace all of the gauges, if I could only find out how to pullout the dashboard. - Has anyone eer done this?

Basically I am finishing my BIG restoration project. There are so many little things to trim and adjust, deck hatches to change and I’m adding a chain counter and enlightened writings on the dash!

Jerry, in Italy today gas is 1.61 € per liter! this means 8.46 $ per gallon! :wow:

I hope this will cheer you up a little!

$8.46 a gallon for gas in the US would have everyone really screaming. Wow!

I am going to replace all of the lighting with LED's. Maybe add a helicopter pad also.
