Big day yesterday! We splashed our 2008 260A. This is our first cruiser, and we are delighted. MM's skipper was very helpful. Spent over 3 hours with us!

I've been following the posts about the 260's handling characteristics so I was prepared for the quirks of this model. Yes...you do need to be careful with the trim. Yes...it does tend to wander at slow speeds. Do I care? No. I didn't find these issues to be overwhelming.

We love the boat!

Congrats to you both:

We love our 260. Don't worry about the wandering. I found as you cruise if you try to correct it all the time your constantly over steering. Just let it be and it corrects itself. The Bravo III is great.

Good suggestion. I'll try just letting 'er go and see how it corrects.

We put the camper canvas up when we left last night. We were losing light, so just dove in tho the project without looking at any directions. Yikes!
Good news is, our marriage survived the experience.

Congrats on your dancer!
We are ready to go in with ours as well. We did the same with the camper package and was not a pretty sight. I was told to leave it up for a bit and it will stretch out. Of all the things I thought would be tough, putting up canvas was not on the list.
Good luck with the boat!

thanks!
I just now looked at the instructions. We started at the stern, zipped before snapped...pretty much did everything wrong. I'll leave it up for a few days to let it stretch out a bit.

Good news is, I backed her into our slip twice with very little effort!! I guess that's more critical than putting up canvas.

I knew someone would say that :)

I picked up a one-year perscription of "ItisPrevent" at my local CVS Pharmacy.
Thank God for good drugs! We'll see....

There is no known cure for footitis. It can only be kept in check by regular applications of angry wife.

Cold and rainy on the St. Croix river today, but I had to visit the new boat. Went below, cranked the heat, put in a DVD, and took a nap.

Life is good !

Congrats! We need to see some pics of her in the water!

Pix coming soon.

How many of you leave the dehumidifier on when you're not onboard? We were told it's a good practice. True?

I have never used it and our cabin still smells like a brand new boat. And it does get humid here in the Summer. Maybe further South you do.

We use ours in the hot humid summer months only. It runs the Air Conditioner / Fan for short periods (programmable). You can even program the fan to run ONLY when to AC Pump comes on vs all the time ON.

Works great!

Congrats on the new boat. You'll have a blast.....once you and your Admiral can put up the canvas in a rain squall without saying a word to each other............

The only cure for 2 foot itis is the fuel prices we had last summer.
