Here is where we keep ours next to the trash can, I added a shelf to lift the can as the admiral was getting pissed when the can over flowed and shit got everywhere. So I cut a plywwod shelf and raised the can so she gained storage and no more trash can issues

Ok...time to brag....my Admiral hit it out of the park. She was bound and determined to find a "bigger trash bin" for under the galley sink. Well, she did it! And it fits like a dream.

It's actually a dirty clothes hamper. It has mesh sides and a 13 gallon trash bag fits like a dream.

How is everyone’s summer boating season going? Been quiet on here recently so I am guessing nothing is broken and everyone is burning diesel having fun????

Hey Grant!
Great summer so far.
Beginning of July we spent 12 days on the boat.
From our home marina to Montauk-Newport-Nantucket-Montauk and home..
~20hrs of boating...
Other than the weather a bit wanting:
Newport
Coldest July 3rd on record
4th of July fireworks cancelled

Montauk
Rode out remnants of Elsa

Great trip!

Since taking possession on July 15th, we have put 8 hours on the mains. We have anchored out twice. The hydrilla in our area is so bad this summer that you are guaranteed to plug up a generator strainer on an overnight trip.

I'm starting to change out the halogen bulbs to LED and I have already replaced the two window vent actuators. I hated hitting the button and wondering whether or not one was going to work.

We are taking our first "mini-trip" to a Marina about 55 miles downriver in a couple of weeks. So far, WE LOVE THE 48! It is so easy to manuever, there is a ton of storage, and most of all, it is extremely quiet! We are very happy!

Just returned from a 4 day trip to Block Island. We did a run in July to Manituck, Block and Newport.

The only mechanical issues have been:
- Main battery charger went bad.
- I broke the air gauge on the air horn pump crawling around over top of it.
Yesterday when returning from Block I opened her up and could not get the rpm's past 2580 at 98% load. I was always able to get to 2640... Humm... what now?

Other than that it has been a great summer when out on the water. The weather this past weekend was the best yet.

How often do you guys all run at WOT?
and for how long?

I usually run at WOT a couple times a season for 10 minutes or so each time. We're getting ready to leave for a 12 day 240 mile trip tomorrow, and I plan to run WOT on day one as the sea state is forecasted to be less than a foot.

Was the tide flood or ebb? The only time I don’t get full RPM at WOT is when I’m bucking a strong current.

Hey Grant,

Moved Cashflow to Rogers City Michigan for the summer. Just finished a 2 week 300 mile trip in the Northern Great Lakes (Lake Huron & Lake Michigan). Boat ran flawlessly and have to say my crew has improved greatly. This is where this boat is meant to be. Next week heading to Hessel for the Wood Boat show.

Hope everyone is enjoying the fruits of great maintenance we are learning from this group. I know i have.
Anyone boat in this area?

Looks awesome.... Make sure to post some pics of the Wood Boat Show.... I love those!!!

Any of you all replaced an AC unit with something other than dometic/cruisair? I ask because one of my buddies units shit the bed and needs replaced and when I look at mine those rusted pans look horrible and I have to think are going to leak soon. I don’t feel dometic is the best of quality and found these CMT and Marinaire systems that look pretty nice and the price is really nice!!! Just wondering what others have done?

I had the main unit in the salon replaced about 4 years ago and my guy put in a Panasonic. Has a plastic pan and recharge ports built in. Has worked great since but this season it’s been blowing gritty white dust and has not been performing as well as usual. I’m no AC guy and haven’t had a chance to get it checked out. Not sure if there is any superior product out there but would love to hear about other choices
