460 DA Owners Thread

Finally got a solution for the ugly, plastic, transom door slide bolt receiver. Solid aluminum and looks much better...I know, I know...my OCD got the best of me. But sometimes its the little things that make you happy. :)

That would be great. How did you mount the compressor in the arch? I definitely want to use the existing horn switch if I can't just replace the existing compressor.
Here ya go...The previous owner had a speaker in the location that I now have an access plate. The old speaker was some big cheap knock off POS and we couldn't find a JL to match the odd hole, so we installed the new speaker lower and added the access port. The compressor is mounted using the VHF antenna bolts...worked out pretty slick!!

Ok, where and how much LOL-minenisnloose and needs replaced, I might as well try the same-you are going to have my boat looking amazing!

That is an excellent use of space. I can't see doing this unless I can find a way to take out my current JL speakers, wire it up and then somehow attach it in the arch above the speaker..
..I'm going to have to noodle on this. I'm going to see if I can remove the original compressor and replace it in place...

A boating friend of mine owns a machine shop in Bay City Michigan. I gave him the plastic one and he matched it in aluminum. He hand turned it as he doesn’t have a CNC lathe.
I told him last night at dinner if I post this on CSR he may get orders...:) He said $30 each. It’s labor time and not material.

We could get them cheaper if we ordered a few hundred LOL

For $30 I'll take one for sure! Is Venmo an option? :)
I'll have to get a Venmo account...that's something my boys use, but I am old school...LOL

I am going to speak with my guy (Ken) tomorrow as I have to drive down his way. He may ask me to wait and get a few others to want them as well so we can do a combined order and he isn't making 1 a week...let me follow up.

We can probably ship it in a padded envelope for a buck or $2 as well. Stay tuned!!

Venmo-LOL-only reason I have it is because of my sons.....but it is an effective way to make a quick payment to others without risk...

I found the horns easy to get to thru the anchor locker. My horns were flopping around down there. The are attached to the hull with rubber mounts. The rubber mounts had disintegrated. I called the manufacturer, and they don't sell the rubber pieces, only new horn sets. Can't hear the things anyway. So I am getting new horns for the radar arch. Kahlenbergs are $1,200. Anybody have good suggestions for something reasonable?

I don't know how to post so it shows what I am replying to. I would also like one of the transom door pieces. I find Zelle is much easier than Venmo and it is instant.

Wolf, on the picture of your SS foot switches, it looks like you have SS drain inserts. Where did you get those? Also, what are you doing with the electrical connection up there?

Hi Jeff,
I ordered 4 of those here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IV8JUW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2 for the deck and 2 for the hull.

The electrical is a 50 amp power cord for the boat. We always bow into the slip wherever we go and I got tired of lugging 75' of 50 amp cord with me...now I only need a 25' cord and it is an easy connection. In the fwd. stateroom there is a 50 amp breaker inline, then it goes to a selector switch in the salon. The selector switch options between stern power and bow power. All other panel switches for generator etc. stay the same. It is really slick!!!

WOW. So you are an electrician also. What haven't you done on her? I am ordering 4 now. Thank you.
