I don’tIf you have cellular on your iPad, you already have a gps chip.
I have a Garmin Glo. Connects over Bluetooth to the iPad. I was using it in conjunction with Navionics for Ipad, works very nicely.
I have upgraded to a new MFD and no longer use it. Its sitting on my desk waiting to be ebay'd. I'd sell for $65 shipped, if interested.
I have a bad elf GPS for my iPad. I like it and it works well.

Is it the one that plugs into your ipad or the bluetooth one?
The one that plugs into the iPad.
No...this is incorrect.
The Garmin Glo is a bluetooth unit ...connects wirelessly. I think the battery goes 8 or 12 hours.
The cords are there to charge it up, either from a cigarette lighter or external battery as mentioned above. Both cords that came with the unit are shown.
I was answering which bad elf I have. I don’t know about the garmin glo.
