Skisafe came in great! I went through the whole process this past fall. Geico and Progressive had ridiculous high quotes. I got my 02' 340 with agreed value around $800.00

Have you not earned the privilege of higher rates?I am just going through a tough re-quote on my car insurance right now. In the last year my college daughter has smacked up her new civic twice...she was rear ended pretty bad and a weird hit and run that took out the front quarter panel and hood when it was parked (at a party none the less) and on top of that she got a speeding ticket... Both accidents not her fault but they raised her premium...alot. Next...My wife hopped out of her new Mercedes in the garage with it still in reverse and it rolled back and hit a steel shelf.. $7.2K in damage... and in the last year I have had two windshields replaced in a Lexus and two really good speeding tickets...one in a construction zone Overall for three cars... my premiums have more than doubled from "really shitty" to "You have to be phuck'n kidding me!?!?!?!" status. So I am a bit bitter right now when it comes to insurance companies....so to your point I needed to put this thread to bed...and stop my visual pain of seeing others go through the same thing
3 accidents, 3 speeding tickets, 2 broken windshields...and his insurance went up? Go figure. Blueone, hope you have better luck with your boat.Have you not earned the privilege of higher rates?
Good thing is I cant speed in the boat, my wife won't drive it and my daughter hates the boat....it's now my only safe place.Blueone, hope you have better luck with your boat.
We tried that.. premium went up a small amount...we also tried taking me out as an individual and it got worse againOn the kid, consider moving her out and re-titling the car in her name at her new address.
I have seen the same thing in fresh water. I had to negotiate up the agreed value but that was the only obstacle... good luckI'm paying $4000/yr thru Global Marine. I just got a quote through NBOA (Chubb) for $1300/year. Wow. I'm not trying to compare apples to apples to make sure coverage is similar, but wow.
I insure thru Global. I don't have as much boat as you but 4,000 seems high to me. I paid 1,296 for the past year. I should get my bill in the next month, I hope it stays the same.I'm paying $4000/yr thru Global Marine. I just got a quote through NBOA (Chubb) for $1300/year. Wow. Woody, I pay $1,050.00 thru Global, with boat laid up Oct - Apr. Maybe you have more icebergs up there!I insure thru Global. I don't have as much boat as you but 4,000 seems high to me. I paid 1,296 for the past year. I should get my bill in the next month, I hope it stays the same.

View attachment 66739 I've noticed that Global Marine is selling some policies that have an exclusion for losses caused by a mechanical issue. Those policies are a lot cheaper than a standard (whatever that means) yacht policy. We use Chubb and have no complaints. They are A rated by AM Best. We paid extra for better coverage and the price was still reasonable. Your price almost seems too good to be true. Pay close attention to exclusions.
I wonder why? Did you change type of storage? Is one location deemed more 'secure' than the other?Global went up 500 when we moved from Menominee to Sturgeon Bay too.

I stayed with Chubb based on reputation, balance sheet strength and value, but thought it was sneaky of them to sell a policy that excluded such a common problem. When I asked the broker if I was reading the exclusion properly, she also seemed to think it was a little sneaky. Also bought the more expensive policy without that exclusion which was still reasonably priced.Just confirmed the exclusion you cite is a Chubb only situation.

just got a bunch of quotes, Chubb was the best at $604 for 100k agreed value on a 2000 380 DA... next was a small independent in lake of the ozark at $800.... went up from there. The LOTO office told me CHUBB was very reputable and to use them if they were that low.... i do have layup from DEC-March (4 months)
