What is a pass through? A doggie door?

 

I think the biggest boat SR made with the walk through windshield was the 280DA with steps built into the cabin door. If this can be done, it will mean replacing the entire windshield and forming a ladder some how. If you could even find someone interested in doing this, you would pay a large fortune to get it done…..You will have to move to a different brand boat to find this. My dog uses the walk way up the gunnels….and has never hit the water.

The 450EB was probably the largest boat Sea Ray made with a walk though.

 

I don't think so. @Pirate Lady it's a way to the bow through the windshield. Many newer models have that. It makes getting to the bow way easier.

 

I would highly doubt it could be easily modified to open and the cabin door opening goes back a long way towards the windshield so there is no simple way to make safe passage and stand up there to go out or in. If you need a pass thru, I think you need to find another brand that has pass throughs in their cruisers.

Don't punt - go for the touchdown - the 340SDA is a great boat. We had the same issue when we moved up from the 260DA to 340SDA - my wife was concerned about losing the walk through. Several years later it is not even a matter for discussion and it is easy access on the gunnels with well placed grab rails available. As mentioned dogs generally don't even worry about it but ours always has his life jacket on when not at the dock.

Your profile says 2009 350, what's the deal? Most dogs don't have a problem going forward up the gunnels. Many times they get better at it than us!

 

I would think the bow would be a little slick for a dog.

The 2008-2009 350 and 2010-2017 370 have what you’re looking for. My wife wanted to keep our walkthrough windshield and we loved the 340 size. The 350/370 is the same hull with a tweaked layout. Give it a look if you haven’t already

 

Exactly - I think the 310 while being smaller have the walk through windshield after around 2009

 

Some additional thoughts on this topic thinking back to when I had the walk through window. I absolutely hated when you were on the bow and someone did not close the cabin door - made it extremely hard to get back to the cockpit. Same for when you were in the cabin and someone decided to sit or lounge on the cabin door.

I also hated going up and down the steps in the door. Not good for the door. It could get to be a pain as well.
