I can't talk to the install as I've never done one, but I know several people that have had them installed on 20'-22' Crownlines. I've never heard of any issues and they are very good quality as well as being a great company to work with.

I know some who have had to make templates of the back of their boat for them to custom make a platform for, with success.

 

One of the principals in this company is an ex Sea Ray employee that has a very good reputation for producing a high quality product. They have figured out how to make this a user friendly deal and one where an owner who can do reasonably mechanical things and can follow directions can handle the installation with only some "hold this" type of help.

I did not know they would do custom.

Will they allow you to specify the depth? I mean if the normal is 2’ and you want 3’ or 3 1/2" will they do this?

I’m talking about the length from the stern of the boat to the new stern of the boat after the platform is installed.

Personally I don’t understand why swim platforms are made that do not completely cover the outdrives.

 

I'm sure they will. Most of the ones I know were boats they did not have a stern shape/template for.

I'd call and ask.

I'm going to give it a try as soon as I can figure out which platform I want them to model after. I'm leaning towards the 2001 210SD platform as it is not too huge and still allows me to use my boarding ladder. I'll post pics of the install if I decide to do it myself.

I think that your original ladder cannot be used anymore...
You will get a new one in your new platform.

I sent him an email on some questions I had for my 2001 180 BR.
I like just the safety aspect of it plus it would give that much extra space to lounge on..

 

I had a follow-up email from Scott on the ‘half’ round platform molds. They are 48†wide (side to side) and 39†deep. Based on my measurements, my orginal ladder will clear. I'll confirm all this when I order the platform next week. They currently have a 2 week lead time, so I should be set to go late February. I'll post some pics when its done.

 

I installed one of their platforms on my 180 sport. It wasn't too bad. Took 1/2 day and two people. They make a great product and Scott delivers exactly as promised. I recomend them highly! I have a pic. if anyone wants to see it. It was too big to attach to the post.

with the step down to the platform does it get wet from the wake or when you stop suddenly does the wave roll onto it?

 

The wake does not seem to roll over the platform too bad. Most of the water goes under the platform. I was at an angle when the picture was taken. I don't think it actually sits that low. It does however plane the water a bit on the sides with a heavy load in the stern.

All in all, it is worth it to have the extra 20". It gives me space to put my cooler and helps swimmers and skiers get in and out of the water. The original platform was too high and the ladder did not extend far enough into the water.

 

I know this is an old string but I am a new member and I wanted to comment about Swim Platforms, Inc.

I have an '89 340DA. The original platform is only 22 inches front to back. I needed a bigger platform and looked everywhere. We never used our transom door to board, our dogs kept falling off, it was practically useless.

I sent an inquiry to Swim Platforms, Inc. with a picture of our boat and got a return email the next day with prices. I then get an email from Scott Samuelson, the owner who informs me i own his old boat. He recognized it from the pictures and told me the story of ordering from the factory while he was an employee.

We bought the platform and had it installed and what a difference. the new one is 39" front to back, fit perfectly and has changed the way we boat. When we stearn in at marinas, everyone wants to know where we got it and because it's so big we can put deck chairs on it an sit and watch the fun.

For anyone that is contemplating a new platform, you will not go wrong buying from them.

PS The dogs still fall off so I guess it was the dogs and not the old platform.

 

can a 07 240DA have a swim platform? It would add a nice touch to it, however, I dont want to make the stern too heavy.

 

Their website shows one for a '99 240 DA so if they had a pattern to make one, I don't know why it wouldn't work for an '07.

I delt with Scott on ordering one for my 210 BW. It turned out great and we loved it. I let the dealer install it and it took 3-4 hours.

Just thought I'd update this... The platform is installed, it looks fantastic! With the original integrated platform, I have a back 40 on the boat! Now if we could get rid of this snow, I would be able to actually enjoy it!

I would highly recommend them. I'll take pictures if anyone wants to see it.

 

I have one of their platforms on my '989 340DA. I didn't install it as I was having the boat hauled anyway and the yard wasn't able to let me do any of my own work. However, I watched the whole install and the platforms are so good that they are almost impossible to screw up. If you are comfortable drilling holes in your boat below the waterline, if required, and you have someone to bring you beer, you'll be fine. Measure at least twice.....

 

Love it I installed it 4 years ago still looks like new and it matched perfect. Sorry for the blue shot.
