Best part of trips in the keys since March has been the absence of crab/lobster pots. Pots come back in August.

 

I am so retiring to Florida

 

I'm up in the Crystal River area and the wind was blowing crazy. It has calmed down now. Enjoy your day!!

 

We are in Naples tonight, slowly winding our way north.

We will be headed south out of Crystal River on 7/24 headed to the Abacos. Planning on over nighting in Indian Rocks Beach the first night, then Stump Pass the second if you are in the area at that time.

Spent a week down in Marathon. Loved the keys! Herbies in Marathon was a great meal hogfish sandwich. , Also had a great Grouper sandwich down in Havana in Key West. Missed stone crab season.

We are on the west coast now. At Naples. We like Naples over Marco, just our personal opinion.

Continuing north for a few days. At some will go back south to marathon, the 5 hour trip back to the east coast.

Today our trip from Marco to Naples was a little over an hour.

Tomorrow we are going to pink shells, bout an hour.

That is the nice thing about the west coast of fl, you can hop locations that are 15-20 miles apart.

What a great pic! Thanks for sharing it with us. We ALL love running on flat water like that and it makes the memories we love to have.

 

No pics, but probably one of the best boating days ever.

The conclusion of the day was the dinghy anchored 50 yards off the white sand beach watching sunset into yhe Gulf of Mexico,, my wife, a nice gin & tonic, and a good cigar.

We discussed that it was mental pictures and memories, not digital ones.

Mark it looks like a great trip. The downside is I guess I won't see you in BaldHead in 2 weeks.

That is the downside.

We just ran out of time this year. This trip was originally be in June. Work and family - everything just got pushed back.

Gives us new territory to look forward to. I am wanting to see your boat! Now that you have been on it a few months - what's your thoughts?
