I have a dumb question but I’m stumped: how do you turn on the lights under the swim platform? Mine don’t turn on with the anchor or nav lights but I’m not sure if they’re supposed to or if there’s a separate switch.

On my boat, Acc 1 is for GPS and depth instruments. Acc 2 is the underwater lights. If not working, check resettable fuse on the box in the access panel under the helm.

I found the underwater lights but didn’t realize the other switch did anything. Do you mean for SmartCraft gps/etc? Would be helpful to know if I’m not getting all of the info I could but my depth/temp transducer works without that switch. My Raymarine unit powers up separately obviously.

I think my Raymarine C80 is connected to Acc 1, but to be honest I could be wrong since I just always press Acc 1 before turning on GPS.

A few questions of my own:
1. I just purchased the Great Lakes mooring cover. Curious how it is supposed to fit over the speaker covers and around the radar arch. I assume I'm supposed to put in 3 snaps above the speaker cover, but seems like it won't be the best seal around the arch. Any helpful tips?

2. What burgee flag staff holder do you have? Surprisingly I can't seem to find any nice mount for the rails which I think are 1-1/4".

3. Grill mount type & location. Any recommendations?

1. I have snaps that go above the speakers but I can’t be more specific than that right now. The dealer has misplaced the cover and I’m waiting for him to find it and send it. Until then I’m using the camper top.

So I just got done mounting my Magma grill.
I installed a flush mount holder just to the left of the aft rope/buoy storage locker on the flat spot on top. Purchased a Magma extension and it's perfect. Puts the grill away from the aft seat and almost centered on the swim platform. mounted it with a 3/8" King Starboard backing plate and it's very solid.

I tried searching this question but couldn’t find it. I have a 2000 290sd and it looks like there is a wood holder for the outside table. Would it get too hot in the engine bay to keep it there while running. I wouldn’t think there would be any issues or I doubt they would have put that there but the cup holders are plastic. Maybe I just need to remove those of I store it down there while we are underway. Anyone have any issues with theirs?

I am about to order a trailer for my 2008 290 Sundancer. The general specifications are a 15,000 lb capacity aluminum I beam construction with electric over hydraulic brakes on all 3 axles. The question I have for all those 2006 to 2008 290 owners out there who have trailers concerns the total height of your boat on the trailer. I am trying to stay under 13 feet 6 inches. I was curious if anyone who trailers their boat is also under that height and, if so, what is your total height and would you be kind enough to share the particulars of your trailer? Also, please let me know if anyone has one for sale.

I have a Williamson Ocean trailer made here is SLC for mine. Just returned from a 700+ mile trip to Lake Powell with no issues. Trailer pulls great. I'm pretty close to 13'-6" with mine, nothing extra on the arch.
Things that are a must:
EOH Disc brakes all around as you mentioned
Torsion axles
"The Vault" Hybrid Lubrication Hubs.
Wheels that will accept LT tires rated for the load
Sturdy bow stop with correctly sized winch
Side guides for help loading in wind (recently added)
LED lights

Things I would add if I had one built:
Electric jack
Electric winch
Front ladder for getting on and off front of boat
I would have the trailer built with a gooseneck hitch

Solly, thanks for the reply!

Had not thought of adding the electric jack, electric winch and "The Vault" hubs - great ideas.

The trailer manufacturer I am talking with is including the side guides, torsion axles, led lights and bow ladder (I had one added to my last trailer and it made one person launch/retrieval doable).

Curious about your reasons regarding the gooseneck hitch, I have never used one before.

What do you use for a tow vehicle?

A gooseneck hitch puts the tongue weight centered over the rear axles. makes it more maneuverable, and pulls nicer and is safer. If you've towed a fifth wheel trailer you'll know. I tow with a 2017 F350 single axle long bed.

The boat is on the Arkansas River which is still recovering from recent flooding. So I will need to travel if I am to use the boat at all for the foreseeable future.

Took the boat down to Powell for a 5 day trip and had small amounts of water in the bilge throughout the day. I would pump probably 3 gallons out 2 or 3 times throughout the day. I just replaced the shift cable bellows on the Starboard side and all of the other bellows look good on visual inspection. This i my first time owning a boat of this size with twins, but I am used to a dry bilge. Any ideas of where to start looking?

Get in there with a little shop vac and suck it out and watch to see where the water is coming from.
