My issue seems to be tied to the gauges somehow. If I start the starboard engine first and then the port engine, gauges for both engines seem to work as they should and all systems seem normal except for that damn alarm. If I only start the port engine, I get no gauge activity at all on that engine, until the starboard engine is started. Once that engine is started it seems to "wake up" the port engine gauges. If only the starboard engine is run, no alarm and the gauges for that engine work as intended. Whenever the port engine is running, whether the gauges are working or not, I have the continuous beeping alarm. Does this sound like a canbus issue?? Unfortunately I don't have an Owners manual for an 05 or 06 to see how to reset the gauges to see if that would do anything. Right now I'm at a loss.

Typically on a dual engine setup only one engine supplies power to the canbus network. If you have a blue data cable going from each engine up to a single junction box at the helm then only one supplies power, and that is quite often the starboard motor, so that would explain why your gauges only come on with that motor. As for the continuous beeping alarm I wouldn’t really know. Maybe be a little more specific with the alarm pattern, that might mean something. Do you have any faults appear on your gauges at all - do you have SmartCraft SystemView (SC5000 LCD display)? Try checking the obvious like low drive lube or something along those lines.

The pattern is just a repeated beep every second. The only error I get on the gauges is lost signal after the engines are shut down. I'm headed to the boat right now and will check the drive lube reservoir. I do have 2 data cables, one from each engine, going up to the helm

I'm feeling pretty foolish as I've spent the last three days trying to figure this out and the problem was staring me in the face the whole time! I think it might be time for new glasses. Thanks White Shadow, you nailed it.
