Does anyone know where I can find a Lofrans Progress 1 finger kit? My windless broke and I need one. Apparently they discontinued it.
good ole 'redundancy'......I am planning to go to all chain but in the meantime i just put some pressure on the finger when the chain/rode splice comes through and it works. Maybe not recommended do to the danger and only good from the foot pedals but it works for me and I have 9 other fingers if something goes wrong.
I did the same until I went with all chain. Scary stuff when you are single handing in relatively narrow river anchorages. The things I gotta do to get away from those human things....I am planning to go to all chain but in the meantime i just put some pressure on the finger when the chain/rode splice comes through and it works. hI have the Lofrans progress 1 tension fingers. I am selling them as a kit with one flange style button head cap screw and one nylon washer. The price is $60 for the kit which includes shipping to the lower 48 states. I prefer to be paid through PayPal.

Curious if this fixed your issue?I use my boat hook to push up against the winch finger and that seems to work pretty good. That keeps my fingers in a safe position and I don't have to bend over with my bad spine. My spring, finger and associated parts should be installed sometime next week.
Do you have the spring with it also and will it work better with the rope?I have the Lofrans progress 1 tension fingers. That was the price from the YachtSupplyDepot link above for the post 2002 spring.Looks like they charge more for the 9mm spring: https://www.imtra.com/970f126a-79c5-4b57-85e1-72cd5c7029fe/anchoring-all-detail.htm $34.50, you might use the part number to find somewhere cheaper.
So this happened to me yesterday, how do you get the sheared stud out? My daughter caught the finger, nut and washer in mid air as it was about to fly off the boat....Shabuba, yes, they shear off all the time. That is why folks need to buy new fingers. If you take out the broken post, you can replace with a bolt like I did or better yet buy one of Dixon's repair kits (above). Either way it's not that big of a pain. Until Mike built new fingers, this was a serious headache. I Highly, Highly doubt you need a new baseplate. Post a picture and we can help you diagnose. This is also something that is very easy to replace so don't be afraid to DIY. Or at worst your repairman should charge you for 15 minutes of time.
Thanks for the info...I should be able to do thatVery easy. Go to home depot and buy this. Bout $8. Drill it out and tap. Everything in 1 kit View attachment 72118
