Hauling the boat back north for some New England boating.

 

Finish reassembling the port engine, touching up the bottom paint, washing and waxing. Other than that, nothing much.

 

So who else is counting down the hours until this weekend... I have approx 64hrs to go... This weekend is going to consist of a trip on the chesapeake bay to the little choptank river and Solomons Island, maybe a stop in Cambridge and then dry dock Tuesday for fresh bottom paint.

What is everyone else doing this holiday weekend?

We took a pretty good beating out on the Bay last Sunday coming home from Annapolis so if I do go out I’m staying close to home. I never thought I would say that!:huh:

 

Lots of cleaning and polishing to do - but heck that wont stop me from the weekend - It's Tuesday!

(cough..I may be sick for Friday)

 

Mentally, I started my weekend yesterday.

 

Actually, I usually try to avoid boating on holiday weekends like the plague.

But I haven't been able to use the boat recently thanks to a blown-out disc in my back so I'll probably make an exception this weekend out of sheer desperation to get on the water.

Yeah!!! Well its my Birthday weekend and I want to go out on the boat!!! Depends on whether I get the fresh water system back together... We shall see...

IF I get fresh water I would like to anchor out somewhere in the North half of the bay... Any suggestions? I may go up to Still Pond but wonder how busy that will be... I'll be playing hooky on Thursday to finally get my season underway. Yippee!

 

One more day at work...I have a golf outing on Thursday, Friday get the boat ready for the weekend. Doing the Air Show at PAX River on Saturday, then we'll see where the raft-up parties will be.

Hoping for great weather this weekend. Getting tired of this stormy, rainy and windy conditions on the weekends.

 

Counting the hours. sister law brother law driving their motorhome down for 4 day camping at a near by marina. Only few minutes from our marina by water. Off Fri,Sat,Sun, and Mon. Really looking foward to spending 4 days on the boat.

 

Same here...cant wait! I am towing my new 185 Sport up to Lake Shasta and Trinity Lake for two weeks.

Right now I am upgrading the boats sound system from the Clarion to a waterproof (water resistant?) Fusion system in my driveway after work. So I have something to look forward to when I get home from work as well.

I was a little surprised the boat does not come with a voltmeter gauge. So I am going to install one of those as well when it arrives. Eventually an isolated house battery as well so I don't have to worry about running electronics with the engine off while at anchor.

All these fun boat projects AND a great vacation starting this weekend!

 

My son is in travel soccer and there is a tournament this weekend. 2 games on Sat & 2 on Sunday. (I'm hoping for crappy weather so I don't start brewing over not using the boat.) :smt013:smt013 Soccer season ends June 14.:smt038:smt038

 

I have exactly the same thing. Heading to Hebron, In. for the Best of the Midwest tourny. I'm sure it will be fun, but this is the first time in 7 years we haven't been on a boat for Memorial Day. However, Memorial Day on our lake can be the equivilent of New Years Eve on the roads - amatuer hour. The next two weekends we'll be out and I can't wait!

 

Absolutely can't wait to get on the boat! This will our first planned full weekend on the lake. The only problem is our 14 yr old. She's freaking out :smt101 over her exams which run Tues - Thurs next week.

Jeez, I don't even remember exams in the 8th grade. Are we expecting more from our kids nowadays? :huh:

 

Wakeboarding Saturday all day hopefully, just the guys, and then probably go out Monday. Our lake doesnt get too crowded, and our town ramp is residents only, so usually no waiting.

We shall see.

Planning on one day a week off from work starting mid June to Sept, and all weekends, and of course early days off from work to go.

Im in no rush, plenty of boating ahead

 

I'll be spending the next 2 evenings at the marina finally getting it polished and waxed so I can sit back and enjoy the long weekend. Its finally warming up to the 80's here but the lake unfortunately is still too cold to jump in.

 

I just brought the boat home to get it all polished up before a meeting this afternoon. We are headed out late Saturday and not getting off the boat until Monday morning. I'm anxious to hit the water, and see how busy the lakes really are on Memorial Day weekend!

 

No hurry here, we have been out several times already. Just hoping we have less than 30mph winds this weekend.

rode out some heavy winds last weekend at the marina.. interesting to see the whole dock move towards shore and back out after the winds died down.

 

Yes, I can't wait. We have a promise of great weather, mid seventies and we're planning a 2nd Annual Memorial day trip back to Jones island. We're making this a tradition for my Brother, our 2 cousins and their families.

It will be 3 boats, 11 kids(maybe 13) and 8 adults.
Here's last years pictures and I'll be getting off early Friday to attempt to get the same spot. I can't wait.

This will be my first trip with the new to me boat. We're heading to St. Michaels for the long weekend. Should be interesting parking at the St. Michaels marina as my 2nd parking test. First one was into our slip. It will provide me with a relatively short cruise to get the feel for it and also provide a fun weekend, although I don't know what I'll do after Saturday. I guess sit at the dock bar and drink :grin:.

 

We are hoping to get out this weekend and take the little one out for her first boat ride!

Keokie hope the weather is good for you! We were just down there for A week. It was great we had some wind but it was nice being back on the boat.

The Blue Angels Air show is at Jones Beach NY this weekend. First time viewing from the water. I hear Zacks bay is a great place to watch, I assume it will be crowded. John G

 

There will be an air show, but not the Blue Angels - I think its the Thunderbirds (edit) - Yes it will be crouded - if you go get there early for a comfortable spot

 

Woohooo change of plans....taking the day off tomorrow to go wakeboarding all day. 82+ and sunny....finally!
