Good morning - When replacing the IAC on my 2000 starboard engine, if removing the plenum to get to the throttle body, is it necessart to remove the riser/elbow and exhaust tube? I've been getting some mixed advice on this. It seems if the plenum is removed, the riser and exhaust tube are no longer in the way of the flame arrester? Also when removing the plenum what and how many and what type of connected items should I be aware of? Thank you.

That's an answer I was looking for. Might you have some advice on how to remove the exhaust tube from the elbow? I've used a pick tool to break the seal but could use some input on this if you have. Thanks much. Greatly appreciated

All set..and thank you.
do you have water lift mufflers? I always leave the elbow at the muffler end on, and just pull it out of the water lift tank. Then, I twist on the elbow, and it comes right off. With V-Drives, the engines face backwards, so the exhaust tube IS in the way of just pulling the TB flame arrestor, and then then the throttle assembly off easily. I just replaced mine, but the Plenum was off for other reasons, so I didn't have to remove the exhaust tube. It's one or the other with Horizon inboards and V-Drives.
Thank you. Next question. When reinstalling the throttle body, does the gasket get installed as is or with some type of liquid gasket or similar? Thank you
