Like to get a consensus of the hours on engines out there and get an idea of what is expected and possible.

Here is mine :

Mercruiser 6.2L MPI 450 hours
Kohler 5e 1200 hours

In a 2005 Sundancer on Freshwater Lake

A year or so ago the same sort of post came up.
I now have 2200 on my 454s they used 1/2 quart per 100 hours. I use SAE 40 oil because that is what the manual says to use. Transmissions seem fine cutles bearings may be 1/32 to 1/16 play.
Quicksilver generator has 1200 house uses no oil. Use 10/30 in it.

Does your engines have closed cooling systems? If not don't expect the high times some see to be the norm.
Sorry just saw your in freshwater. In that case you should see over 1000 hours easy.

Cat 3406C's 1425 hours.
Westerbeke 15KW gen, 2300 hours

The only issue I had with the gen was a cracked fuel line that allowed air to enter. Diesels don't like air and it let me know ASAP. That crack was hard to track down because it was down behind the gen.
