There are so many options and threads on this... do a search on "grill mounts" or "magma grill".
Allot of different opinions as which is best too.

If you have rod holders, I really like the magma rectangular grills with the adjustable rod holder mount that looks like a ball joint. You can level the grill, it's sturdy and folds away nicely. The other option that I see a lot is installing one of the socketed pole mounts under the hatch for your swim platform ladder. It's out of the way and makes it easy to cook on the platform.

 

Under the ladder hatch. That's clever! I may have to look into that.

A lot of our dock neighbors have done it. Keeps the socket mount out of the way and no one trips. Down side is the ladder is a pain in the ass with the grill up especially if you have kids swimming while you are cooking.

 

Oh yeah, that probably would not be great.

 

I am also looking at mounts for a rectangular Magnum on the my new to me looking 360DA. I will either use the adjustable rod holder or was considering a Grillamount.

Damn, that grillamount is a great idea. I don't know if it will fit under my rail but nice idea. looks like it stores well too.

I have been procrastinating for a while over grills. I am on Magma #3 and hate this one as much as #1. I do however, love the rod holder mount. I am planning to take the rod holder mount and make it to where I can mount one of the Weber gas models.....

Great point, thanks. It seems that most Magna owners at best have a love/hate for the grills. What are you using in place of the Magna?

After 20 years, I'm done with Magma! This is by far my best cooking grill and setup. The table was fabricated from a filet table and a magma pedestal mount. Basically just thru-bolted.

I buy the $25 portable.... keep it in a duffle bag in the aft locker....it can cook on the swim platform or usually on the end of a picnic table... after 2 years I throw it out..this is a pic of the next two year BBQ waiting to go to the boat...... at the dock I brought down a weber....both can cook up the best steak or sea food....nothing tastes better than cooking on the water...no matter what you use

 

I got one of these several years ago. Multiple levels. Love it. The way the burners operate, the left side is a little hotter than the right. Let’s me pick what I want to keep warm. I need to get a mount for the boat.

 

I enjoy my grillamount. Room to walk around it on the swim platform. Solid. Adding a serving tray to hold the grilling necessities.

 

Here, is how I used my rod holders to hang a magma grill off the back. Obviously never underway.
