I have a 2007 320 DA with an LG flatscreen. I tried re-scanning the channels... but no luck, just fuzz on the set.
Do I need a converter box, if so, whats the easiest way to access the cable connection on the back of the TV?:smt100

The easiest place to tap in is at the Glomax Gain Control. It has 3 connections and DC power on the back of it.

1) Dockside CATV in
2) Antenna in
3) TV out

Just disconnect the Antenna in and redirect to the converter. Then take the converter out and put on the Antenna in.

Cut off the AC Brick from the converter and tap it's wires right into the DC power feed to the gain control.

Done.

There's a thread on doing it in a 260DA, but it's the same principle. http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10888

I can't seem to make this box work. The only way for me to get the on screen display from the converter box is to turn the glomex off, however, when the converter box scans for channels it says the signal is week. Itried several different configurations, but no luck. The only thing for sure is when the Glomex is turned on there is fuzz on the screen. Any suggestions?

Yes, you need to set the gain control to max, then power on the converter. Also, on my 260 I didn't take the face plate off the Glomax, as I removed the wall panel it was mounted to and just went in from behind. And yes the connections on the Glomax are labeled.

Not directly. You'd have to run it through an inverter. An inverter can cost the same or more than the DTV Converter itself. May be easier, and better in the long run, to just get a 12volt unit. The Artec units in the thread linked above are all 12v.

You should read the install instructions for the Artec. What you did is not even close to what is recommended.

I bought (2) Flatscreens with Digital Tuners for my boat, I connected them to my boat antenna, to my surprise neither worked, no digital signal. I connected them to Rabbit Ears from Radio Shack, worked fine.

My boat has a Dantronics UFO TV Marine Antenna which I purchased 7 years ago. I called them, no problem, they had me ship back the UFO and they sent me an Astro 360 ,free of charge, now I receive all the digital channels. They told me most of the older UFO's won't receive the Digital signals. I thought I would use this thread to put in a good word for them, thats what I call Customer Service.:smt038

It's not the location. It's how you wired it. Read your instructions. It is supposed to be connected to a DC breaker and fused.

Not sure if this is going to help you or not...but I just removed the antenna cable from the back of the TV and ran it into the converter box. I already have an inverter for the TV, so I plugged into that for 120V power. No splicing required. I just tucked my converter into the 'shelf' behind the TV (I also have the flat screen, but it looks like they left the old shelf structure meant to house a CRT TV and it makes a great location to stash the converter). Only issue is that I have to lean around a bit for the remote to work, but if it becomes a problem I will add an IR repeater.

I am not sure if the antenna wiring will work when connected to dockside cable TV but we never use it.

Looks like I'm going to need one of these. Have been checking around and it looks like the Artec T3AP-LS has been discontinued and is being replaced with the Artec T3AP-PRO. Haven't found one in stock - anybody got a source for one of these?

XXXXXX (This is a very bad word and will not be tollorated on this board, EVER!) has a thread on this product and the source. I bought mine from the guy in Texas. Service was good.

I also have a 07 DA that had a LG flat panel on the bulk head that was analog. I wined long and hard at MM and they finally got SR to agree to replace under warranty. (My boat was still under warranty this spring until 03/29/09). They replaced with another 22" Digital TV. (Spectre) You need to remove the upholstered frame around the tv, remove a couple of screws in the bottom of the mount and the tv will lift off. Replace the mount on the new tv, re-install the screws and re-hang the frame, and you are good to go.

I also had the 10" drop down in the mid cabin. I have been told that they do not make a digital drop down tv yet. I purchased a Artec T3AP-Pro which is 12v. We placed the converter box in the corner of the mid cabin seat behind the drop down tv. Had to remove the screws to lower down the tv, removed the cable from the tv and connected to the "in" side of the converter box and made a new short cable to run from the "out" of the converter box back to the tv. I purchased a cigarette power cord from radio shack, cut off the plug end, and wired direct into the circuit that powered the tv. This circuit is fused and switched for the tv. The converter box sits nicely on top of the seat in the corner and if you lower the drop down tv you can't see it at all but seems like the remote still works OK.

I get about the same amount of digital channels (15) from either my dock mounted digital antenna or from my glomex on both tv's. Make sure to have the Glomex turned on if you are using it. We are approx. 25-30 miles from the tv towers boating on the Mississippi near St. Louis.
