i use regular wax on my deck non-skid and do not think it is too slippery when dry...if it is wet that may make a difference.....

If you skip waxing the non-skid (which I did one time) you will regret it quite quickly. The non-skid will be a hot mess all summer long. Anytime I'd put on my polarized sunglasses I'd be disgusted at how different/yellow the non-skid would look. It drove me crazy.

Agree completely. I know several people who pay to have their boat waxed and the contractor doesn't do the non skid. Really makes the job look bad from my perspective. My guy does all fiberglass and having the non skid done makes a big difference. It can be slick IF wet.

 

I use Shurhold's ProPolish and the round soft yellow brush the sell on my orbital buffer. Wipe with a rag and done!

Makes a big difference and and not too slick!

After you wax it with an orbital.. I use this http://www.woody-wax.com/fiberglass-non-skid-deck-wax.php a couple times over the summer. It's easy to apply and works pretty good.

 

Blueone has the right idea. Woody wax if applied correctly will make the non skid look great. I clean the deck first with Starbrite non skid deck cleaner followed with WW and it looks great.

 

+1 for Woody Wax & Woody Wax soap. Both clean the non-skid & put on a thin protective coating that isn't slippery & heeps stains off.

 

I also use Shurhold yellow brush and Shurhold wax. Not slippery at all.

 

I used to wax my SRs nonskid with the same wax as used on the rest of the boat. Should not be a problem as long as you wear a good pair of non slip boat shoes. Bare feet on wet surfaces is asking for trouble. I also use Woody Ultra Pine boat soap which has wax in it. The Woody's spray wax for nonskid is applied to our boat about once a month and makes washing it much easier. Our nonskid is very aggressive so slips are not a problem.
